October 2, 201610 yr Author 9-1/2 to 6-1/2 for the good guys going into tomorrow's singles matches. I genuinely felt bad for Westwood. Missed a 3 or 4-footer on 18 that would have given Europe a half. Doesn't sound like much, but that's a one-point swing. Would have been 9-7. Reed was a beast this afternoon; carried Spieth all the way. At one point was 5 under in 4 holes, holing out from the fairway for an eagle on number 6 http://www.cbssports.com/golf/news/watch-patrick-reed-ignites-american-crowd-with-eagle-from-fairway-at-ryder-cup/ .

Reed played about as good as anyone ever in the Ryder Cup for a stretch of 5-6 holes. That hole out for eagle was flat awesome. US did exactly what that needed to do going into tomorrow.

I'd just like to see the stars and stripes win one more time before my time is up. The Ryder Cup has morphed into one of the greatest sporting events out there.
October 2, 201610 yr If you're not watching this Reed/McIlroy match, then you're missing one of the best matches I've ever seen through nine holes. They're jawing at each other, riling up the crowd. It's completely insane.
October 2, 201610 yr Author Still early, but the stars and stripes are getting waxed in singles so far.
October 2, 201610 yr Still early, but the stars and stripes are getting waxed in singles so far. Setting up like 2012 all over again. Lost an even bigger lead that Sunday.
October 2, 201610 yr Lots of tight playing on the USA side right now...man I was hoping they would win this one for Arnie.
October 2, 201610 yr I love the ebb and flow in momentum in the TV coverage of Sunday singles. You'll see Europe make a few putts, the USA will make a few putts, then a couple well-placed shots by Europe. Makes you feel like there's an almost natural pattern of waves in the momentum. This is one of the best events in all of sports.
October 2, 201610 yr This is one of the best events in all of sports. I agree, this is one of the great events in sports...I love it.
October 2, 201610 yr Reed able to get a huge win over McIlroy. That was as fun a match to watch as any I can remember. If you missed it you should have someone kick you in the junk.
October 2, 201610 yr I feel like we really need Michelson to win his match with Garcia. Hate the idea of Europe getting so many early points and just hoping we keep all these late leads.

October 2, 201610 yr I'm very happy the USA came out and are playing this well today...we've been so snake bit on Sundays, I half expected Euros to come out and take control today.
October 2, 201610 yr Fowler getting a full point is huge. The Euros were really expecting to win most of these early matches. So far they've lost 2 that I think they really needed to win.
