Bluegrasspreps' Class 3A Rankings - Discussion (9/26)

Featured Replies

Western Hills is 5-1 with wins over Franklin County and Frankfort.

District 4 could be interesting with 'down' LexCath and Boyle and 'up' Garrard and Western Hills.

I'm not so sure Garrard County nor Western Hills would come within 3 touchdowns of Boyle County or Lexington Catholic. Of course, we will find out soon enough.

You think Fleming and Russell could beat Lex Cath?

Lex Cath is 1-5 because they have played the toughest schedule around! Their losses have come to St. X (6A), Johnson Central (4A), Cov. Cath.(5A), Madison Central (6A), & Cooper (6A). I don't think Fleming and Russell could beat them!

No you have to prove your ranking by winning.... Anybody could beat them definitely Fleming co an Russell

I can not speak for Fleming as I have not seen them but Russell struggled with Ashland's Athletes. Lex Cath would name their score against Russell.

Russell couldn't tackle Lex Cath in a phone booth.

There's some high school kids reading this wondering, "What is this 'phone booth' he speaks of?"

You have an interesting definition of the word "struggled". Russell's defense surrendered all of 193 yards and 8 points to Ashland. Almost half of Ashland's offense came on their final drive of the game.

I would definitely favor LexCath over Russell right now, but I think Russell's defense would keep them in it for a while.

Rumors of Central's demise were greatly exaggerated. Watched the HUDL film of them and they are extremely aggressive and ferocious. Coach Scroggins has it right when he says they are still very competetive in 3A.

I agree. Central is better than the #7 ranked 5A team in my opinion, so I wouldn't count them out just yet. Their schedule is pretty brutal.

I noticed that there is 7 team from the West ranked in the top 10 and 3 from the East. Really it does not madder who is rank 2-10. Belfry is the team to and the rest are fighting for #2.

Catholic is fine were they are because they have played a hard schedule. But you could say the same for Cental to be ranked higher.

I was speaking about the final drive when Ashland's sophomore QB made multiple Red Devils miss tackles by slightly moving horizontally and then dragging defenders as he goes down to beat the devils. Ashland's lack of production was more so due to Ashland than Russell IMO. Russell is just an average football team at best this year.

There is no disrespect here for Russell but having watched Russell against a not very good Ashland team and Lex. Cath against a pretty good Johnson Central there is no way I see the Devils keeping it close.
