I was told they want to play somebody better than Highlands.

SK saw their Frosh get whipped twice, and their vaunted JV take a beating at the hands of the Birds. Not surprised they would duck out of this series.

While I don't care if HHS and SK play again, why doesn't SK just cross the Ohio River and play a Moeller, St. Xavier, Elder or like Ohio big boy schools? Those trips across the River are less time consuming travelwise, are huge money makers and those schools mention will be more than willing to travel back over the Ohio to Independence to play SK.

Because going undefeated in the regular season and a second round playoff loss is their goal.

 

Is it a coincidence SK ended up on Highlands schedule when it's been known for a few years that there would be a step back in the Birds program. And now that that dip is reportedly going to be over, SK suddenly (allegedly) doesn't want to play Highlands.

SK is playing Beechwood next year too

 

If so, that's even worse, especially if they won't continue playing Highlands. Whether or not they continue playing Highlands, adding Beechwood is totally pointless for the Pioneers. It would benefit Beechwood, but not Simon Kenton in any way.

I do believe he took that right out of good ole Dale Muellers playbook. Apparently you all have a short memory of Highlands DUCKING Simon Kenton during the Miles Simpson era. Ole Dale wouldnt put anyone from Northern Ky. on the schedule, if he thought there was even the smallest possibilty that his birds would lose. This was told to me directly from a Highlands Alum who i work with, who played at Highlands himself.

Wonder why SK wouldn't want to schedule Scott County? Would think that would be a monster gate and be one of the biggest non district games of the year.
