The truth of the matter is that these two would draw no matter the opponent. I would question playing host and sending money back across the border when a double header featuring a couple of top Kentucky teams would be just as good and help build Kentucky high school football. I'm sure there is no shortage of fans that would like to see their team get a crack at Trinity or X in a season opener.

Reason why- Bowl games have exploded in other cities like Cincy and Indy and Nashville. They get TV coverage and sponsors and it is a big deal to the kids playing in large college stadiums or pro stadiums. It is exciting to see the kids on the "big" field.

Reason why notTrinity and other programs have beautiful facilities that they can draw 8-12K on any night. Why charge the fans parking and uplifted ticket prices when the home team can net out more money playing at home and keeping the gate and concessions? From the financial side, Here's a quickie summary- Let's say Trinity plays at home and charges 6 bucks a head for 8000 people. 48,000 plus every hot dog, coke, program, and pretzel

minus the visitors team cut( small) It could be a $60,000 clear night or more including media.

Let's say Trinity plays another team as part of a triple header at Papa Johns

costing the fan 10.00 for ticket and 5.00 for parking. More travel costs( lunch, buses, etc = small amount) plus the crowd gate attendence at 15,000 ( Remember, this is not T vs X or the state playoffs!) x the 10.00 gives $150,000 to split 6 ways ($25K) plus the parking split( generally not split) minus any promoter's "costs" including facility rental plus sponsor money for ads and TV/radio. Many of the promoters take their money first away from the pot and then split it six ways. They will throw in reinbursed travel costs to the away teams but subtract that from the pool. THere usually is not a concession split. So financially , it could be better if you have a huge crowd but for a regular season the crowd isn't that big.( outside of T vs X) And since these are usually on Saturday, you get to choose between U of L away game or UK or Western. By the way, the kids have a short week the next week( like this week)

I choose Friday nights playing at home.

I like Trinity playing MBA and Manual, along with X. I like X playing BG, Highlands, and LexCath. I would like to see X and T play the other Lex Schools (Who won't play them!), or some Southern Indiana schools. Playing the State schools has been good for X, and I think would be for T also. Several years ago, the Thanksgiving Day games were Male-Manual, AND X-New Albany.

I would like for us to have a home/home with Elder.....the pit.

A Double Header at PJ and at Paul Brown with X and T playing Elder, Cincy X, Moeller, etc. would be a great evening of High School football.

T vs. Elder

X vs. X

Dayton (school that played T a couple of years ago) vs Moeller

All at Paul Brown Stadium

a Catholic triple-header that chould draw a total of 30,000 (?)

I think it will be important to balance the fan appeal of that type of card versus the money they can make from home games. As pointed out earlier, these teams can make more money on a home game.

Yeah that is a good point when things go to 6A I think that will open possiblites for that. As it stands Male and Manual have the Old Rivalry bowl to open the season and New Albany has played Manual last year and Male this year. Also Shawnee and Atherton played their rivalry game this year at that bowl. Unfortunately for New Albany they got blown out against Manual last year and Male this year but it is kinda neat to see these schools that have not played each other in years but historically played a good number of games in the past. I think it would be neat to see more southern Indiana-Louisville match ups. Of course, cross district match ups like Manual Trinity and St. X Fern Creek are good too!

I really don't want us to play any of them over there, I don't think it would be nearly challenging enough.

Come on it will give your Defensive backs a chance to play infront of their friends and family! :fire: J/K please don't send the hate mail it is just a joke!!
Dayton (school that played T a couple of years ago) (?)

Other than a couple of years ago when we played them (they had Jevon Ringer who is now performing well at Michigan State) Chaminade-Julienne is never much to write home about. They've won the North Division of the GCL four times but three of those times, split the title. Lots of great basketball in Dayton; football belongs to the Cleveland area.

I'm sure T, X, and the cincy schools could make more money with home games, but what an experience for a few hundred kids to get to play on that field!

I am sure Trinity will have as tough a schedule as they need.
