Tates Creek 44 Henry Clay 0

From what I was told by a pretty reliable source he wasn't even their first or second choice. They both had 2nd thoughts & said no.

Lexington doesn't care about sports, they hired a guy to coach Dunbar that was like 6-34 and they gave him the job? No way TC should beat HC that bad NO WAY.

This was probably the most surprising score of the weekend to me

Literally if there were no running clock and Belfry decided to give their starters a full Half of Action I have no doubt they would have scored over 70 points in the first Half alone against Tates Creek. From what I saw Tates Creek didn't appear to even be at the same level as the 2015 team. I would quantify TC as a team in the 15-20 range of 6A.

Last year when Tates Creek and Henry Clay got in that crazy 70-64 shootout it did not surprise me at all. To give up 44 to Tates Creek is a bit surprising... I could see 28 or even stretching 35 or 38...but to be shutout by their Defense frankly blows my mind.

The fact Henry Clay took Ryle to the wire even further confuses me.

Having seen film of HC and having watched TC play I thought, and said to friends that TC should beat them and that it was possible it would be a blowout. HC came into the game over confident and unprepared. They made mental errors, looked confused, did not seem to understand the weaknesses of TC, much less have any plan to exploit them. In the past HC has been able to out athlete there opponents but this year TC had the upper hand. The TC receivers made big plays and even when well covered and double covered, Jackson Beerman just went up and took the ball away from the HC defenders.

As for TC, Belfry was a terrible match up for them. Add to that the delays and 4 hour bus ride and it was a recipe for a smack down. Not saying that they could have beaten or even been close to Belfry but the circumstances certainly didn't help. That beat down seemed to refocus TC. The next week they came back and got an overtime win after being down by 14 and the starting QB replaced by the freshman. That win changed their outlook on the whole season and seemed to give them confidence going into the HC game. This is a fairly young TC team and they are getting better each week. The reality is, they are probalbly not as bad as the Belfry game but not as good as the HC game would indicate.

In my opinion, HC had better get it figured out quickly or it's going to be a really rough year and if TC can keep getting better each week they can end up with a very solid season and have a lot to look forward to in the coming years.

I just watched this one and here are my thoughts, not that they amount to much.

#10 For Tates Creek looked very good. He seem to throw a nice ball and looked to have made the smart choice by not throwing the ball into coverage.

#6 For Tates Creek is a stud.

#42, I believe an outside linebacker looked like heis going to have a good season.

#92 Has a powerful leg on kickoffs.

Tates Creek seems to have a offense that can both run and throw the ball effectively

Henry Clay, I believe used five different QB'S.During the broadcast it was said their would be returning QB quit the team? This had to kill their offense in a gigantic way.

I did like #7, a tight end. If they can find a QB, who can get him the ball, he could have a big season.

Two lineman, who looked to give it all they had #66 #76. Both have size and played well enough, that other teams will have to take notice of them. #9 could be the leader in the secondary, but that alone won't be enough to stop teams from going pass happy against the defense.

Actually it was 48-0.

This is the thread from last year. Combined, Tates Creek has beat Henry Clay 92-0 in their last two games.

Your post pretty much sums it up! I might understand last year, but not this year.

There is a saying in business that say's, " Your system is perfectly designed to give you the results you are getting". Sometimes you must coach the kid's talent instead of forcing a system on them.
