Trinity....my guesses

 

Trinity has only had one losing season since 1971 (5-6 in 1995).

 

Trinity is a good guess, but they had one bad year.

If anyone is curious about the opposite end of the spectrum.. I count only two teams that have only had LOSING SEASONS since 2000.

 

Atherton and Todd Central

 

Todd Central had a winning season in 1995

 

Atherton, OTOH, has not had anything besides a losing season since before 1990.. in fact I can take it back to 1983 with only losing seasons before my info comes to an end. That is a confirmed streak of 33 years with losing seasons.

 

I would be very curious to know what their streak of losing seasons is currently at. In the mid 80's they were struggling to 1-3 win seasons so I would expect it probably would continue on for several more years.

If Bell has a long streak it is in jeopardy this year. I think a .500 regular season is extremely likely and if Whitley County or Casey County could bite them I could easily see 4-6. If Casey gets them then a second Round playoff loss to Corbin would put them at 5-7.

Bell County (I thought that might be the one people would have trouble getting)

Now let's see if you can get the other 5 that have not had a losing season since 2000. Two have already been pointed out above - Trinity and Belfry. I think getting all three of the missing ones is going to be more difficult.

Somebody might want to call Julian. KHSAA scoreboard has Highlands with 2 wins that year.

That makes me feel bad, because a streak like that has to hurt.

Atherton's last winning season was in 1976. They began playing football in 1950 and have had only 10 winning seasons in their history.

Thought those wins were restored.

 

The 2004 wins were restored.

If we are talking about winning seasons Trinity would be done in 2013 when they went 6-6

 

.500 records become opinion questions as to whether you count them as winning or losing or whatever. I gave them credit for not having a losing record.

Up until 1983 Mayfield, Bell County, Beechwood, and St. X were hanging on to their streaks.
