I think they should shut him down now. Last year Finnegan threw 57.1 innings in the minors and 48 innings at the MLB level. He's already at 159.2 innings this year. That's a 54.1 inning jump already. Add two more starts and you're approaching a 70 inning increase on a 23 year old promising pitcher. That's a lot.

Last year he only threw 105 though. JMO, but professional innings are much more stressful and taxing than at the college level.
