Middlesboro 48 Lynn Camp 14

Featured Replies

How many district titles has Lynn Camp won?

How many in the last ten years?

Now for the fact that they have a large enrollment for single A is a true one and yet one shot at a region title?

I hate to say it but that is kinda sad!

Even sadder playing teams like Jenkins and Betsy Lane every year winning 6 or 7 games and not making the playoffs. Good luck against BL!!

No one can claim that the Campers play a weak non district schedule. Coach Mitchell will not back down from a challenge. His teams records over the last 25 plus years reflect that too. Lynn Camp is one of the best Class A teams in this end of the state, most seasons. I would say they are a top 25 program overall in Class A as well....

The same amount as Cumberland has. Lynn Camp has won 11 playoffs games the last ten years, has Cumberland won 1?

Pretty much.

I guess I'd rather be lucky, then.

They'd better take one this year, because it will be their last chance.

Well now I see that Lynn Camp is the tradition power. The point that I was making is that as bad as I hate both Sommerset and 'Burg always have teams that are in the mix of things! Those two are the powers in District 7, except for this year!:fire:

I think that it is sad that a Lynn Camp can not win a district title even with a better team, for example last year. I know that if we had a kid that went to Division One Football, you would think that you could win a simple district like ours. Maybe they don't have the greatest coach like Sommerset, 'Burg, or Harlan:sssh:

I will say that I will miss playing the "traditional power" Lynn Camp Wildcats, I mean that is what I think of when I think of the Southeastern Kentucky Football!:ylsuper:

Well, anyway, again not to get to ahead of myself or to push my luck, wait and see who will be up there with Sommerset!:fire: :dancingpa

I hope it's Cumberland as well but from the looks of it right now, it's looking like Harlan will be up there.

If I were a betting man, I'd say the district ends up with the following ranking.

1. Somerset

2. Harlan

3. Cumberland

4. Williamsburg/LC/or Pineville in that order of probability. I've seen all 3 play and there isn't much difference in the 3. Best of luck to all teams in District 7. BTW I'm pulling for it to be Somerset, Harlan, Cumberland, and LC to represent the district in the playoffs.

To answer Fundamental, If you are counting the Burg in the mix because of the last 3 years, I would guess that Harlan and LC are right there in the mix year in and year out, too. Somerset/Middlesboro were the cream in most years, and The Burg would not have gotten either of their district titles had the Other Jackets not had to move up!!!!

I admit to being a Williamsburg fan. I respect Lynn Camp and what they have accomplished. Mr. Fundamental is obviously more expert than any of us, and I'm sure year in and year out his team wins title after title. I also know from reading his posts he is knowledgeable beyond compare. So folks like LC99 and I should bow humbly to his expertise and knowledge. I hope to be educated further by this brilliant individual.

Honestly,

I don't get many years to run my mouth in fact this is might be my last year but I think my team should be considered at least for having a shot for the title.

Vol Fan, if you are a Williamsburg fan you know that we have a had great teams in the past, enough to beat you for sub districts.

Lynn Camp fans should know historically they have not done that well in the district.

Harlan fans can say that their program is consistant.

Pineville Fans can remember the 80's.

This is how our district is and it is sad to see it go to the way side.

Congrats to Middlesboro on the win...the Jackets seem to be much improved and have the potential to make a deep run in the playoffs.

I have a lot of respect for Lynn Camp as well...the Campers have been one of the top teams in Class A Region 4 the last decade. They may be a little down this year but they will be fine.

Good luck to both teams...

Middlesboro is for real....and they've got a real shot to get to Louisville. They kinda snuck up on people last year....but they will not be overlooked this year...and that's a promise. IMO, Their defense will have to improve though...to get past Russell, Belfry or...gasp...Sheldon Clark.

Middlesboro is good. Came on strong to end last year and look like a new team this year. Anyone who overlooks them will get what we just got!

Dont think its fair to say that. It would be like saying LC Region win is tainted because Midd was not in District. Fact of the matter is district 7 is very competative. I think every team has won a title except LC and they year in and out have 1 of he best teams and have won a region. There is usually no easy game in the district year in and out. Also on C,lands behalf they are the only team to make it to the carpet other than Middlesboro.
