Heroin Laced with ELEPHANT Tranquilizer Triggers Mass Overdoses Across Ohio

Perhaps the PC agenda of labeling something as a disease rather than identifying it as a human failure. And of course if something is a disease, maybe there will be grants (lots of free money from the government) available to fund research. Research done by, wait for it, wait for it... Scientists!

Well you are obviously the subject matter expert on human failure so.....

Again, just my hope for you and your family that you don't have to have any experiences with these "human failures"....

Good luck to you in your life. With your perspective, you're certainly going places. It's refreshing to see someone with an open mind, who is obviously well educated and has all the answers. Glad to be of service to you and your jaded view of the world.

You assume I have no knowledge on this subject. I have seen first hand what a junkie can do to a family. I have seen them steal, lie and trample anyone who stands in the way of their pursuit of their selfish pleasures. I have seen half a dozen childhood friends die because they decided that their love of getting stoned was more important to them than their friends or family. These were junkies who wanted to get high and most junkies shooting heroine on our interstates, putting our families at risk, are the same way. Just idiots who do not give a damn about anything or anyone but themselves. Save them with Narcan today, they are out getting high again tonight after stealing from their family to buy their fix. Apologists want to make excuses for them by blaming "disease". Sorry, I don't buy into this line of thought for most of them. They are junkies by choice, not victims and like it or not, this is a human failure in these cases even if some would prefer not to admit it.

Agreed.

I have no sympathy for the people who do this.

You know the potential consequences before you decide to shoot up. You still do it, I'm going to work under the assumption that you're accepting that risk and the potential tragic outcome that comes with it.

Even if it's a kid? Say 16 years old?

I still don't understand why the creator of this heroin is considered worse than others who make heroin. You can die from any of it. None of them care about the junkie, only the money they make off of it. They are all scum.

Update: Suspect arrested in rash of overdoses that killed two in Cabell County

Obviously there are many more people involved other than this man, but at least it seems to be getting some serious attention from local and federal agencies.

This case was settled today.

Per WSAZ:

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) --An Ohio man entered a guilty plea in Federal Court today to distributing heroin connected to 27 overdoses in a five-hour span in Huntington.

Bruce Griggs of Akron, Ohio was charged with distributing heroin mixed with fentanyl, and carefentanil.

When asked what he did to make him guilty of this crime, Griggs told the Judge "I distributed heroin in Marcum Terrace".

Prosecutors say Griggs sold about 13 grams of the cut heroin in 1/2 gram measurements.

Griggs now faces up to 20 years in prison and could face up to a one million dollar fine. Sentencing is set for April 10 at 1:30.

Good old Marcum Terrace

Word of advice if you ever come across someone overdosed or find drugs that look like herion be careful. Fentanyl can kill you just by touching becareful.

Good old Marcum Terrace

I would generally say the place needs tore down. But they did that with the projects on 16th street and dispersed everyone that lived there into the West End of Huntington. That's not working out so well for the West End, not that it had much going for it to begin with.

My office was at the top of the hill from the Terrace. I know those folks well. Lots of them had Fairview gear from time to time.

Unfortunately, in my younger days I spent some time in and around the Terrace. I'm not proud of it, but can testify that it's a terrible place and I couldn't imagine living there. Huntington in general is pretty bad off, but when you step into the Terrace, it's like you teleported into a bad neighborhood in Detroit. Hopefully some of those Fairview kids you worked on made it out of there and aren't already in prison.
