Student Alleges Assault by 4 NKU Basketball Players Declines to Press Charges

So why do you go to the police to file a report but do not want them prosecuted?

That's exactly what Mr. Cat and I were saying last night. Why is this story in the news if she doesn't want to press charges. And how much power does she think NKU bball players have to fear repercussions?!

I'm not buying what she's trying to sell here.

Same. Something's not adding up IMO.

Agree. If it happened, which is sounds like it did based on witnesses, then file the report. I wont' begin to think I understand what she is thinking but it must be bad enough that an article was written and names were mentioned.

But she only named 2 of the 4. If she knew they were hoopsters, wouldn't she have known all 4?

I'm not exactly sure on that one. Couldn't say.

I have it from a pretty reliable source that this story is complete garbage. And that all parties involved here have been investigated and cleared of any wrong doing.

Counter action may be in the works even.

Could be because what she said was blantently false according to many others who were there.

Was the counter action filed in the bus incident or the Jane Doe rape case? I'm getting confused.

The Jane Doe rape case. But its the attorneys for "Jane Doe" who are running to any media outlet who will listen to try and create a bigger story than there really is.

This has been investigated, witnessed by 30+ people, who all corroborated that nothing criminal happened. And no charges were filed.

If a "rape" or some other sexual encounter happened it would not simply be up to this girl to file charges.

Sounds like there is a bit more to this, the AD's statement was that more than one player was involved in a sex incident.

Northern Kentucky University's athletic director recently admitted under oath that more than one of the school's basketball players were involved in some kind of sexual 'incident' last year that brought the scrutiny of NKU's top brass and involved the school's internal discipline system.

But Kevin Murphy, the lawyer representing the woman suing the school, discounted those statements.

"All people have to do is read sworn testimony of (former NKU police chief) Les Kachurek and Ken Bothof, the first two people who have been deposed in this case, to understand what has been going on on the campus at NKU," Murphy said. "Those are words from the witnesses' mouths, not mine."

Indeed, former chief Kachurek testified in a deposition in July that he was never told that the male student in question was under any restrictions to stay away from the woman's dorm, or even who he was.

Kachurek also said that he was told by friends of the male student that he indeed confessed to raping the woman in 2013, but that he never sent that information to school administrators even though he knew it could change the man's sanctions.

No sure what happened but there are two separate cases here, one in 2013 and the other in 2015.

I can understand not suspending anyone until something is proven. I also understand the gag order due to the situation, it doesn't mean what's being said is true or not, but the accused need their day in court first before being dragged through the mud.

Judge has ordered NKU to turn over assault records from last seven years.

Not to sound dumb...but if there are assault records, shouldn't they be on record with the courthouse?
