To RCC9's post above, there was an interesting quote in today's football preview by Walton's coach. I am paraphrasing but something like ... You don't want to face the best team you have seen all year in the playoffs. That is a recipe for failure.

 

I believe that is true. If you want playoff success, try to get at least one team on your schedule that you think is better than any team you might face in the playoffs. That gets more difficult for the 6A schools but is still a good goal to shoot for.

 

As to scheduling Ohio schools, it is going to be tougher for SK now that the program is where it is. Ohio schools want to schedule the best team they know they can beat. That helps them in the Harbin ratings used for playoff eligibility and seeding. SK may not be able to get anyone other than a GCL or similar quality team to schedule them. Those Ohio schools do not want a loss and that hit to their Harbin rank.

Colerain isn't in the GCL and the last time they tried to play a team like Colerain, it was Middletown. I'm hearing SK people are still having nightmares.

I know, that's why I said someone out of the GCL or Colerain. Even if they got beat badly, it could prepare them more.

Racke was 9/16 126 yards 2 tds and ran 75 yards 1 td. Shearer threw 84 yards 1 td. Dylan Hampton had 11 carries 92 yards 1 td. Jon Sergent 3 carries 23 yards rushing. Sam Murray had 2 catches for 45 yards 1 td. Luke Vance 3 catches 50 yards 1 td and 86 return yards. Fisher Hayden 2 catches 40 yards 1 td. Timmy Cottrell 1 catch 52 yards. Noah Darpel 1 catch 18 yards. Logan Kreidenweis 1 catch 5 yards.

Linebacker Markie Rider had 10 tackles and Brian Carter had 11 tackles and a interception. Trent Kincaid 6 tackles, 1 int and 96 yards return kicks. Jared Cooper had a interception. Brayden Trattles had intercepton returned it 37 yards for a td. NT Tanner Mueller had 7 tackles.

Jared Cooper for SK had 2 interceptions.

I was thinking at least two score difference. Colerain ranked in top 10 nationally or something like that this year.
