September 8, 200620 yr UK offerd him to walk on. Par for course under old man Brooks. The only way brooks recognizes talent is when it is basketball season. Good luck to Pettrey against the longhorns.

September 8, 200620 yr I've seen him kick once. Didn't even come close on a FG try against NIU. Guess Brooks was right on again? You have got to be kidding, at least I hope that is the case. If not, your post shows that you have about as much ability to evaluate talent as R. Brooks does which equates to about how much that your bgp namesake knew about beating Kentucky. (Not Much :thumb: )
September 9, 200620 yr Cubster is right on track........this kid will be kicking on Sundays in a few seasons. As many others have said, great kid, great parents. I hope all his hard work pays off.
September 10, 200620 yr A. Pettry got his first fg tonight vs. Texas. :dancingpa The 31 yd. kick was from a slight angle and was very high and long. Aaron missed his first attempt from 28yds., it was at a very sharp angle. I can't imagine the nerves that were working in him. A freshman (in eligibility) kicking for the #1 ranked Buckeyes against the defending national champs in their house! Aaron also put 4 k/o's for touchbacks and 3 of those sailed out of the endzone. he was 3/3 on pat's. Congrats again to Aaron "Pete" Pettey!! You are making Raceland very proud.
September 10, 200620 yr :thumb: Nice job Aaron!! He came back after missing his first two attempts of his career and now has the 1st one under his belt. He is perfect on his PA and his kickoff's are unreal. I had butterflies so I can imagine what he was feeling. It sure looked good to see him doing what he loves and has worked his tail off to get to the center stage and I think he has handed himself well. He will have to become consistent with the FG's and I am sure that will come. Great job Aaron, All your Raceland Ram Family is proud of you and you have our 100% support.:dancingpa

I haven't witnessed anyone stirring there today. I thought I would give them some time to enjoy their moment. I will see them tomorrow. I am sure they are happy with the results from last night. Good things happen to good people.!!!
September 11, 200620 yr Negative. I haven't witnessed anyone stirring there today. I thought I would give them some time to enjoy their moment. I will see them tomorrow. I am sure they are happy with the results from last night. Good things happen to good people.!!! :thumb: I just hope that Aaron hitting his fist FG will ghet him settle ddown and kicking them like he can. This is major college football at the highest possible level and his average will have to be better than .333 (1-3) to keep the placekicking job. Him being a redshirt freshman I believe that "the vest" will give him a chance due to what he has seen him do in practice but it does come down to producing in the games.
September 11, 200620 yr Save this post. He will be in the NFL. Of course I was kidding. Heard he missed a short one pretty bad though?
