I am sure that I can speak for all Raceland fans in a thank you T-CAT. Aaron's work ethic and attitude are great and this (OSU -PK) is well deserved.:thumb: His work ethic and desire to play are a lot like Arliss Beach and look where Arliss is now.(a chance for a spot on a nfl roster). Hopefully Pete (as he is known in Raceland) will someday get his chance.

Congrats Aaron! I spoke to his father Friday night and he was beaming from ear to ear! Aaron was there also and was recognized at half-time. All of Raceland is very proud of Aaron.

Incognito I knew the kids potential when he was kicking 35yd. field goals at 12 years old in JFL:thumb: and Jr. high. His coach then said that everyone though that he (coach) had lost his mind when he lined up for fg's with 12 yr. olds, then Aaron kicked them through the uprights.

How does a kid hardly not get recruited. Then he walks on to become the starting kicker of the 1 team in the nation? Wow I'm sure a lot of recruiters are sick over this one.

Ohio State did recruit him sf25 along with other D1 schools. I am not sure but I think that he was contacted by Fla., Tenn., Ind. an dMarshall amoung others. Marshall wanted him VERY bad. Murray State, although 1AA offered him a full ride for Football as a QB and Kicker plus Baseball scholly. Aaron wanted to play major D1 football at a place like OSU. What got all of us was when he showed interst in U.K. all that Brooks told him was that he was welcome to walk on:rolleyes: , This is the same coach that ran J. Bettis out of St. Louis in the NFL :lol: . Aaron loves it at Ohio State and is very glad he is there. Believe me, this kid could kick for anyone in the country, bar none.

Congrats to Aaron, i remember watching him play, he is a very talented player with a great future ahead of him!

Great to see a local Raceland kid starting the season for the #1 ranked ncaa footbal team in the country. Got the 1st extra point kick after td, placed the ensuing k/o on the 1yd. line. Ohio State scores again, Pettry put the next k/o out of the endzone after another p.a.t. kick. Another td, another p.a.t. kick, following k/o around 8-9yds. dep i9n endzone - no return. I think I'll just list all at the end of the game. hne way OSU is going this will be a long post. LOL.

He just missed a 45 yard FG. Pushed it right. The other kicker has also missed 1 today.

Gmae over; OSU-35, NIU-12. Aaron Pettry had 6 kick off's, 1 out of the end zone / 2 deep in the endzone, no returns / others were kicks to the 3, 2, and 5yd. line - very high with short returns. Aaron missed a 45yd. fg wide right- was his only fg attemp. Good game for Aaron imo, a small town kid playing in his first game with #1 ranked THE Ohio State Buckeyes!:flame: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:
