Bowling Green Fire Department in trouble?

Featured Replies

I too pray it isn't true.

If it is as widespread as the claim states then I would think there would be someone to corroborate his story as not too many people who are not directly involved will want to commit perjury when it comes down to it.

I tend to think the normal professional doesn't jeapordize his career to complain about something unless it's really bad. If he is lying this would amount to professional suicide. Most won't take it that far unless it's true.. Just the other side of the coin.

But you tend to think the normal professional jeopardizes their career by doing what Queen is accusing the other firefighters of doing?

You never have an opinion on something before all the facts are known? Never?

There's a HUGE difference in having an opinion and taking one side of a story as 100% fact and convicting the accused before the whole story is told.

In this instance, IMO this is awful IF true. And IF true I hope the BGFD cleans house. But I will reserve judgement until the other side of the story is told.

Been witness to it before. Like the time my best friend who was the only black at a company picnic had a half cut watermelon with his name on it sitting on a table waiting for him when he got there, or another one of my friends telling me how when he came to work their were bannana peels on his desk a couple times a week. So yea I believe people are ignorant.

Do you not see the contradiction in your posts?

That's not good at all.

Unfortunately, nothing in that article surprises me.

Not an article. It's one side of what appears to be the beginning of a lawsuit.

That racism still exist in the workplace and people cover up for each other. Same guy as the bananna peels story, sitting at his desk a white supervisor walks in gives a nazi salute and says to him hail hitler I'm german and irish arent you scared of me? He complains to the union. He gets moved to another job we see the union vp him being (union) and her (being management)sharing a conversation, where they thought they were alone laughing and smiling at each other. Dhe is never reprimanded. There should have been no informal meeting hiding at the back of the shop given that he should have been investigating her and that all meetings would have had hr present, unless the cover up in under way. Sure enough a year later they let him go. Never one repercussion to her. This was a big company, not a mom and pop business. So how am I contridicting myself. I tend to believe the victim first off because like I've said I have seen it go down before. Usually where there is smoke... You know the rest.. Just my life experience talking here.

Who has taken the accusers story as fact?

Not an article. It's one side of what appears to be the beginning of a lawsuit.

I know what it is. Doesn't change the fact that nothing in there would surprise me if true.

To think those clowns are working on the tax payers dime.

They just need to wear white hoods and that would about cover it all for them.

Fire these clowns, post their names and faces every where so all the proud people of BG can see what racist haters look like.

Sounds like the good ol' boys club. They will stick together to try to discredit him. Hopefully their is one other good soul there that can colaborate his testimony.

Who has taken the accusers story as fact?

Both of these posts have that tone. I will say that Fear the Nation's post right before this one did say "if any of it is true" however this post had no qualifier. And it just makes the assumption that the department will all stick together and lie even if Queen is telling the truth.

Apologies. Thought you called it an article.

Would it surprise you if it's not true?

Would it surprise you if it's not true?

If that complaint turns out to be completely inaccurate and is ultimately proven to be a collection of utter fabrications with no basis, yes, I'd be stunned. I'd also be relieved and feel a little better about my fellow man, to be honest. In that unlikely scenario, where these allegations are completely off-base, I hope that guy is sued for slander by every named fire-fighter and has to answer to this.

I did, but I guess "court document" would have been more appropriate.

Yes, I would be surprised if it was found all that was untrue.

Not because I think everyone is racist, but because that's an awful lot of detail to go into to be lying about all of it. It's definitely not impossible, but unlikely I'd say.

Crazy that some have already convicted the accused and just taken Queen's word as truth. I guess we will just never learn to take the wait and see approach to things.

You are right woodsider, I forgot to cut and paste my disclaimer. I've been burned to many times.

So... I stand by my comments if these guys are proven guilty.

And that lawyer disbarred for filing a frivolous lawsuit.
