Ncc's Schneider in favor of 6 class system?

Featured Replies

It wasn't just the Board of Control. The statements made by the State Board of Education (which has the final say) indicated they were totally against the idea. While no one can predict what may happen in the future, I would bet against if ever, and I mean ever, happening.

I would say it will only be given any serious consideration if the number of private schools in the state doubled to tripled and created a good number of schools to have a viable playoff system.

But at the same time, I was not for the split along the lines of public/private.

Actually the KHSAA mandated that nobody plays up starting with the 1995 season (at least I think that was the year). That was when Mayfield dropped back 1A. It may have been OK with them, but they didn't have a choice and it wasn't just a voluntary move.
Actually, it was 1999, the year Danville and Hancock County both dropped down. Mayfield went down on their own in 1995.
I agree--I am very defensive--simply because I know the difference between fact and speculation in regard to this situation.

For the record--I don't agree with free thinker. But to be honest--I don't care. The enrollment figures say that NCC should be AA--fine by me.

But your "competition" theory holds no weight with me--here is why--I am sure that NCC would have to play tougher teams if they moved up to AAA . . . . just like you say that there is better competition for Beechwood in AA . . . what is the difference between those 2 options: ZERO. Nothing, Nada . . . . . .

As far as the "no-respect" theory goes--right now--I would say that people MAY NOT HAVE SAID IT--BUT THEY ARE POINTING TO THE FACT THAT BEECHWOOD IS SCARED OF AA COMPETITION.

I have laid out numerous reasons why moving up isn't the right thing for Beechwood right now. I don't know how many more times I have to explain it. I know enough about the situation to feel okay about putting something on here.

This entire subject drives me nuts because of the way people are trying to spin things.

To be honest, I don't think that most people care if Beechwood moves up or not. They were just wondering why they would not. I haven't seen anyone say anything about Beechwood being scared of competition. I am saying that AA teams are traditionally who Beechwood has been playing and competing with deep into the playoffs (with the exception of Mayfield). I think that people were wondering why they wouldn't move up with their competition. People aren't wondering that b/c they think Beechwood is scared, they realize that Beechwood is legitimately has a class A enrollment. It's not a matter of disrespect. "You're smart...I'm dumb. You're good looking...I'm not attractive (Happy Gilmore)" Feel better?

Ouch!

My apologies to cardinalsvoice for being so straight forward without checking my facts. My memory is not what it used to be and it sometimes gets me in trouble. I hate it when that happens.

Oh well, it goes with my new motto "Often Wrong, But Never In Doubt"
