Realignment--Winners & Losers?? (Take #2)

Moeller is not the big dog in Cincy anymore. Play Cincy St.X or Colerain or Elder. Louisville St. X probably wouldn't make the Ohio state playoffs if they played in Cincinnati.

No question they wouldn't make the playoffs. A bad Moeller team sent them home with their tale between their legs 2 yrs ago. St X quit before it started in that game. Didn't see X last year but heard they were much improved. I do like the fact that they aren't afraid to schedule the Cincy teams. I always have to root hard for the Ky teams but the success hasn't been there. The one success was Trinity's win over Elder which was very enjoyable for Ky football. I haven't checked the X schedule this year, but hopefully they are ready to beat an OHio power.

Lawrence Co's District is now Greenup, Rowan and Boyd which is much easier without Ashland, Mason and JC. That side of the bracket still has Lex Cath, Boyle, Rockcastle and Bell.

Lex Cath gained Boyle in District but lost Highlands/Cov Cath back to back weeks in the 2nd+3rd round!

The Oldham Schools all won.

The West might not see a 4A state title in the next decade!

Bell County is looking toward two or three years of their best football to come along in a while. With the new alignment, Rockcastle will still be in district and region... however, traditional play-off rivalries i.e., Ashland, Johnson Central, Highlands, Covington Catholic will move up. Rockcastle, Bell, and Boyle County seem to be left to :fight: for the title!

Uh that little team called Lexington Catholic isn't too bad:lol:

I think Lawrence Co came out a big winner as for as their District goes (Boyd, Rowan, Greenup lost Johnson Central, Ashland and Mason) It's tough numbers wise for them right now because schools in their District have a lot more kids other than Mason Co.

Everybody around there knows that from the 7th grade- that Soph class they are as loaded as they have been in a long time! With Goldsmith QBing as a Freshman, Chandler Sheppard (who pitched Varsity in 7th grade)also a dandy QB and Big Country Combs (this kid is about 6'2 190lbs in 7th grade and cut, they should be right in the mix in a couple of years too.

Louisville Central and Pad. Tilghman are huge winners IMO. Looking at 3A they seem to be the only names to come to mind as having a shot at Belfry, Russell, and Breathitt on a consistent basis.

Lawrence appears to benefit from that, if they can keep those kids focused and in the system. That's easier said than done, but I for one hope it stays intact, because we need all the respect we can get in E.Ky. I'd make those hoodlums who cost the state $1,000,000 for destruction of school property run back kickoffs all day during summer practice, and then strap them to the sled for the linemen during regular season practices. By the next year, they'd be all state!

I agree bigtime!!!!

Or they could just stick a couple of guys from the board office in there! That would definatly help to get the crowds to come out:lol:

Regions 5-8 in 4A look pretty decent, but 1-4 looks like it's Bullitt East's to lose.

To get to the title game BE doesn't have to play Boyle, Bell, Rockcastle or Lex. Cath. and Bowling Green moved up. North Bullitt will be some competition for the next couple of years though.

Its a toss up for Russell, we are able to pick up stronger opponents in the regular season, which will make us a better team. Just gotta find them now.
