Which is why you rack it, check the chamber AND barrel...release the slide...rack it AGAIN...check chamber and barrel AGAIN...and I know I'm preaching to the choir here when I say this. This is an "accident" that it 100% without question avoidable and should never, ever happen.

I was wondering the same. I could understand using simunition rounds but you have a gun specifically for those.

Was just getting ready to ask why would you have live ammo and not plastic bullets.

 

just went through a CCDW class this weekend. A cousin mine (retired for Owensboro PD, now with the he state police) and a friend of his that is still with OPD taught the class. They had several different guns there to show didn't options, pros and cons of each, and any time they picked one up the first thing they did was have someone else in the room verify the weapon was in fact epmty. They did also went through malfunction scenarios and what to do but used plastic bullets. They had 2 people in the room verify your bullets were plastic.
