August 8, 201610 yr Arguing politics brings out the worst in me . I know it , but its like a bad addition .
August 8, 201610 yr I hate to see it happen. Some questions/thoughts. Could the politics forum be "enter at your own risk." Between the "block user" function and the ability to just avoid the politics forum, can we just have it more or less un-moderated? Does it spill over into the other forums? I have not noticed that, but have not been looking.

No one is forced to read or post so if you get your feelings hurt or your ideals challenged and you dont like it or can't handle it...stay out.
August 8, 201610 yr Or people could actually follow the rules that they agreed to when they became members here. It's clear that some have no interest in doing so.

August 8, 201610 yr Actually, I just went and read the rules and think I want to revise. Those rules seem to provide for a pretty rough-and-tumble political discussion, so if people are violating those rules, then things would have to be pretty bad.

If criticism wasn't directed at a poster it was fair conversation.

August 8, 201610 yr Disagreement is not discourse, and not against the rules unless we live in a totalitarian system. There was a whole bunch of nonsense constantly going on in there. Letting the patients run the asylum isn't the answer and I don't blame @theguru for shutting it down. Just a shame for those who like to actually gain knowledge from the information in the forum, rather than fill it with nonsense.
August 8, 201610 yr Author Politics and religion or just politics? PP1 ain't hurtin nobody! There's like 20 sermons that I was planning on listening to. If it has anything to do with politics then no religion either.
