Suicide Squad review (no spoilers)

Featured Replies

Suicide Squad IMDB rating which is fan based and not critic based currently has it ranked right in the middle of the recent marvel releases with a 7.2

That's in line with ironman 3 and both Thors

Made a huge amount of weekend money. Teens and young women seemed to be the demographic that liked it the most and gave it an A

What other Batman movies have their been in the last 15 years besides the Dark Knight trio? I don't recall any shoddy Batman movies in that time frame or are you going back to the 90's?

My 15 years timeframe is in reference to Marvel only.

Fans are the reason why there have been so many Michael Bay Transformers movies and the fact that there were 2 Grown Ups movies, I cannot in good faith trust them. The aggregate of the critics is largely more likely to be accurate as to the quality of a film.

I'd have to almost question the sanity of someone who is not a teen that would give this movie an A rating. It has far more poor aspects than it does good

I don't trust critics. I have an eclectic taste in movies and music, from high brow to no brow.

I never listen to critics, I want to judge for myself.

I disagree and I'll be 50 next month. I though it did what it was supposed to do. I'm not real hung up on differences between movies and comics the way some are. The fact that we didn't have a long character development for everyone didn't bother me either...we knew enough about most of them to know what was going on with them. We'll learn more as Deadshot and Harley movies come out. The rest of the characters are like Hawkeye in Avengers, we'll learn about them little by little if they come back in other movies.

I don't give it an A, but I'll give it a B+. I was looking to be entertained for 2 hours and I was...the movie never just drug on, the fight scenes weren't painfully long (Talking to you Marvel) and the movie always seemed to be moving forward.

Looking forward to more of the Joker in upcoming movies, Leto was fine but I want to see more.

Oh I want to judge for myself as well, but this sort of thing is usually the difference between me seeing it main run or at the dollar theaters on bargain night.

Gotcha. If you go in with no preconceived ideas of what it should be or has to be, I think you'll enjoy it.

I wasted money on Independence Day, so I'll see anything...but this was IMO a fun movie to watch.

I curbed my expectations after reading the initial reviews. That was probably a good thing. I enjoyed the movie and didn't understand why it was blasted by critics. I give it a B to B+. Some characters were ignored and I didn't understand why they were even there but I thought the Joker was played well by Leto. Margot Robbie is a smoke show and she alone is worth the price of admission, but I did feel like Harley Quinn was forced on us a little too much.

Note to self...be VERY CAREFUL in the future concerning movie reviews from Jumper Dad. :lol2:

Ok, was I entertained? For the most part, Yes. Hard not to be watching Margo Robbie prance around in hot pants and a tight T. And some of the action was decent. But it was FAR from a good movie. And I'm not looking for Oscar caliber stuff here, I know what these movies are going it. But I should get some decent writing, good flow an a plot. Just can't see giving this movie a B+ unless you are comparing it to Gigli...then maybe.

I've never really gotten into these types of movies. I took my Little Brother to see it. He loved it. Didn't change my mind on the genre.
