Hellcats Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 We'''ve Been on the Wrong Track Since 1972 - The Daily Beast The article is a couple of years old, but man is it relevant. Watching three different news programs this morning and the question of the direction of the country was discussed on all three. Americans seem hard to please.
capt278 Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Most aren't hard to please. Government needs to quit spending money like a drunken sailor (I can say that, I've been one :lol2:). Get rid of all the pork. The government needs to quit telling me what is best for me. I know what is best for me and my family.
Hellcats Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 I thought it was interesting that only three times since 1972 have the citizens of the greatest and most affluent nation in the world have approved of the nation's direction. 3 times that never lasted over 2 years each. One of the periods was after 9/11: a terrorist attack made us feel better about the direction of our country. :idunno: #toughcrowd
4chs Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 The country's debt is going to cause grave financial problems for the US economy, and I'm afraid that it's closer than any of the politicians want to admit.

Example, as I mentioned in another thread last week about how Obama will get blamed for anything and everything. Such as with gas prices, gas prices too high? It's a bad thing and it's Obama's fault! Has prices low? It's now a bad thing and it's Obama's fault. So yes, many people want to whine about anything and everything. Fox News contorts to blame Obama for gas prices, high and low | MSNBC

Yes, and let me keep a good portion of what I earn so I can invest in the economy.
Fear the Nation Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Yes, and let me keep a good portion of what I earn so I can invest in the economy. Absolutely, government does not support businesses and hire people. My dollars do that. The more you take the less I have to dump back into the economy. It's not hard to understand.

Their hate (for Obama and Hillary)has blackened their souls, to paraphrase Mr. Khan.

Let's not pretend the same hasn't happened for every president with an ® behind their name since we've been alive....
