gchs_uk9 Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 We did this last year and I think we should again. These schools all enter 2016 with winning streaks (a reminder that not all teams make the playoffs and therefore five teams won their final regular season game last year and then put up the equipment). Who among these teams will extend their streak to even larger numbers? 1. Male - 15 straight wins 2. South Warren - 15 3. Bowling Green - 12 4. Mayfield - 11 5. Pikeville - 10 6. Belfry - 9 7. Allen Central - 1 8. Boyd County - 1 9. Hancock County - 1 10. Iroquois - 1 11. Oldham County - 1
ATLCat Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I see Male's streak ending South Warren and Bowling Green seemingly have the best chances to keep their streak going after 15 games. Belfry and Mayfield have shots at 15-0, but due to strength of schedule both will have some work to do. Belfry will b pushed by Knoxville Catholic, Cabell Midland, and Johnson Central. Mayfield has to overcome Caldwell County, Corbin, McCracken County, and Tilghman. Pikeville's I don't see lasting past Belfry
DragonFire Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Neither South Warren or Bowling Green are going to lose before 2017 at earliest. Depending on what the schedule is for each, it's entirely possible that they won't lose before they meet in district play that year.
Big Five -0- Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I see Pikeville lasting until the Belfry game ( which is no big surprise to anyone.) After that, the only question mark imo would be Valley (Lucasville) Oh. Possibly 9 - 1, no worse than 8 - 2. Jmo.

Not saying they can't beat Pikeville but I don't see it..

If that happens, both two-time defending champs, both with win streaks in the mid-30s, both about five minutes from each other but playing for the first time. Would be insane!

It would be an amazing game that has been coming for several years. I think the game would be well attended. I know the Purple Nation can't wait.
Big Five -0- Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Lucasville lost the farm..... Not saying they can't beat Pikeville but I don't see it.. How many starters on both sides of the ball did they lose ?
Bac2369 Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 How many starters on both sides of the ball did they lose ? Not to sure on starters but they lost 17 seniors. That's a big group of seniors
Purple Nation Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I dont see how South Warren can lose this season. Franklin? Hoptown? I dont see it. I think everyone has been calling it from the BG area that they hope both are in huge win streaks when the time comes for them to play. It will be classic. Lots of games to play between now and then.
Big Five -0- Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Not to sure on starters but they lost 17 seniors. That's a big group of seniors Pikeville graduated twelve and out of those, ten were starters. Don't know how that will pan out with what they return, but it will be at their place, and should be a tough game from what i'm hearing.

I think there was about 8 juniors. I reckon its a hard place for a KY team to get a win...
