July 17, 201610 yr I would bring a change of clothes. I cannot imagine someone would expect their guests to wear a suit and tie at an outdoor wedding reception in July (at least I would not because if you want it so formal please provide the guests with air conditioning) Women will be wearing sleeveless dresses for sure. Bring black or khaki slacks and a different shirt or polo for when you want to have a good time dancing.

July 18, 201610 yr Normally I'm a shirt and tie guy when it comes to weddings, but an outdoor wedding and reception next week is causing uncertainty. The ceremony itself won't be terrible, as I'm not the type to break a sweat while seated, regardless of temperature, but the reception presents an issue. I dance my butt off from the time I finish eating until they shut the venue down. Given this information, any pro tips from the seasoned vets? Great timing for this post. I'm going this coming Saturday to a 4:30 outdoor wedding. Dinner and dancing afterwards. I'll be wearing a shirt, tie and jacket. I'll be staying the evening near the place so I'll have a set of clothes just in case.

July 18, 201610 yr Go the normal wedding attire for the ceremony. Bring a dri-fit polo to change into for the reception. One of my best friends got married in July two years ago. The wedding itself was in a church, but the reception was outdoors. They told the wedding party to bring a change of clothes to wear during the reception. Of course, by that time we were all so intoxicated none of us noticed the heat. :lol2:
