Someone asked for pics the next time I smoked ribs...here you go

Featured Replies

I smoked these last Monday. Best so far, and to be quite honest I don't know if I can get them any better. The perfect, and I mean the perfect tenderness...tender without being mushy, with just the right "chew/bite" to it. Perfect smoke flavor. Rubbed and sauced them, perfect blend of spice and sweetness. I could have entered these in a bbq contest and easily walked away with a medal, best ribs I have ever had, bar none. I have set a bar I don't know that I can exceed, will be happy just to match it every time.

Heck yes I liked them. As I stated, best ribs I have ever eaten, BAR NONE, and believe me I am my own worst critic so I don't say that lightly. I don't know if I can do them any better because I'm not sure better exists for me to reach.

Got the ribs from Boones butcher shop in Bardstown, but they were Smithfield brand so they weren't local or something the butcher did himself on site. Baby backs, very very meaty and just a good overall cut of meat.

@Getslow can be your rib taste tester.

If I must suffer through this duty, I'll perform as best I can and suffer silently.

Bring it on.

They look awesome.

Those look awesome @BigVMan23! Baby backs are my favorite for ribs, they are a little less meaty than most spare or country ribs, unless they are loin backs which have some of the tenderloin still attached. But man, they always come out super tender without having to cook them to the point of falling off the bone tender. I'm like you, I like a enough tug to be able to pick them up and take a bite without them falling off the bone as soon as I pick them up.

I picked up a brisket Saturday that I haven't had the time to smoke yet, but I'm going to throw it on tomorrow night since the wife is off on Wednesday, she can keep an eye on it while I'm at work. I'm a little nervous about it because I'm going to try it on the Akorn, which I have not smoked anything on yet. I've never had much luck posting pics on here but I'll see if I can't post a few in the smoking and grilling thread, even if it turns out to be a disaster hah.
