Look who is ranked as the 4th best QB

Featured Replies

According to the NFLs top 100 which is voted on by the players who play against these guys. Our old friend Carson Palmer came in ranked as the 4th top qb in the nfl. Not bad for a qb many around here said was a bum, washed up and no better than a backup QB.

Sorry the nfl threads were a little slow right now, so I thought I would bring this up. I think he shown he was not as bad as many tried to make him out to be, and those "excuses" i mentioned may have been true. ?

With all that said it obviously worked out very well for the Bengals by trading him. So I am happy with how it played out.

I agree it worked out for everyone.

And I sure would like to know the rest of the story on why Palmer was fed up with Cincy.

Glad he's not the quarterback of my team.

I think you would feel a little different about that if Kordell Stewart was still your qb and not Big Ben lol

I'm sure I would. I still don't trust Palmer when the game is on the line in a big spot.

Have the link?

I agree 100%. I actually trust Andy Dalton more in a big game than I do Carson Palmer. I am not saying Dalton is who I want in a big game, but I trust him more than I trust Palmer.

Hard to tell imo. Palmer had one of the worst defenses every year. Dalton has had a top 10 defense each year and both never won big games.

Has zero to do with big game performance.

Yes and no. When your defense is giving up 30 points. It puts more pressure on the qb to have to make throws and force throws and one dimensional. When you have a defense that holds teams to less than 19 a game and constantly gives you the ball back and usually never down by more than one score that often it is easier and don't have to feel like you have to force something to make a play. Either way though neither has looked great in big games. As good as the Bengals were with Dalton last year. They still didn't play well under the lights in the big games. Just like the Houston game last year it was still the same not performing well. In big games neither has a good resume so it's hard to choose imo.

Now obviously with Dalton he is younger and still time to change the narrative on him in big games under the lights.

The game is either on the line or it isn't. I don't want him if it is.

To bring facts into the equation he is rated 13th all time in most game winning drives on nfl history. The only ones in front of him is Hall of fame qbs.

Sometimes perception is not reality. While o admit overall in big game under the lights and playoffs Palmer has struggled just like the Bengals current qb Dalton. However one thing Palmer was very good at while with the Bengals and his other two teams is game winning drives at the end of games. He has always been pretty good at that category and the facts back that up.

How many did he gag?

At the end of games not many. Now as I said overall in big games he hasn't played well though lol but at end of games if his team's have a chance to win on their last drives he has done really well. Hence the reason why he is 13th all time in that category with 31 game winning drives. Only Hall of famers and future Hall of famers have more. Like your boy Big Ben who is in the top 10 with 37 game winning drives in his career.
