June 13, 201610 yr Author Good first episode. Good footage that I had not seen previously. Didn't know OJ's dad was on the down low.
June 14, 201610 yr Author The story here is not the trial. We know how that went. The story is OJ's long-held refusal to be part of the black community going so far as to say "I'm not black. I'm OJ." A writer told the story of someone being at a party where OJ was sitting with other blacks and he overheard someone say "Look at OJ sitting with all of those N-word." OJ thought it was great that he was singled out as if he were different i.e. not black. Then add in how he NEEDED those same blacks to help him escape prison. This doc also goes beyond the trial. It delves into his post-trial life.
June 14, 201610 yr Anxious for tonight. Episode one, to me, was good, not great. I'm not sure what I was expecting but with all the talk about how it was the greatest thing ESPN has ever produced, I simply thought it was fine, nothing more.
June 14, 201610 yr Interesting, but not surprising, that the first time he met with Nicole, he apparently was aggressive. They didn't specify what, but it almost sounded as if he raped her on their first encounter. Also interesting that he took AC Cowlings girl from right in front of him in high school.

June 15, 201610 yr Good first episode. Good footage that I had not seen previously. Didn't know OJ's dad was on the down low. Yeah I'd never heard that either. Good, not great first episode.
June 15, 201610 yr Second episode was insane. I didn't know the Marcus Allen connection. That's wild.
June 15, 201610 yr Author Watching the King beating never gets any easier. Furhman trying to justify it by saying "if only they allowed the choke hold" is pathetic.
June 15, 201610 yr Author I didn't remember the story about the Korean store owner who shot the young black girl from behind and only got probation and community service.
June 15, 201610 yr I didn't remember the story about the Korean store owner who shot the young black girl from behind and only got probation and community service. Is never heard that either. To me the roughest part last night was listening to Nicole constantly pleading for help.
June 16, 201610 yr Author I've listened to several interviews with Ezra Edelman who put this doc together and Jeffrey Toobin who is a legal analyst in the doc. A few things I didn't remember or didn't know. 1. Fuhrman filed a lawsuit against his employer prior to the OJ trial stating that he had such a rage against blacks that he didn't think he could do his job properly. The LAPD said "nope - go back out on the streets." 2. One of OJ's attorneys told Edelman that there was a debate about OJ trying on the glove when it came up as a potential strategy. Some were against it. One attorney suggested that OJ not take his arthritis medicine for a few weeks so that his hands would swell.
June 16, 201610 yr Listening to Nicole on those 911 calls infuriated me. I kept thinking if that was my daughter and he was terrifying her like that I would kill him with my own bare hands. I also looked up some pretty graphic photos of the murder scene and he almost cut Nicole's head off, he was clearly enraged.
