June 1, 201610 yr Wow! That's a bummer knew several kids that went down there for sports and to continue their education.
June 2, 201610 yr It's kind of a surprise, but not really after that whole mess with the US Dept. of Education a few months back. I feel bad for the students, as well as those who had made plans to attend there in the fall and now have to scramble for an alternative.
June 2, 201610 yr I always wondered if they tried to get too big too fast. I'd be curious to know what it would take to get them back on their feet and if that would be doable with some well-heeled investors.
June 2, 201610 yr This was put on Facebook by their wrestling coach: It is with deep sorrow that I must announce we are closing doors at the end of July. Our program has grown to an unbelievable level in only 2 years. Our family and friends associated with the program are second to none. I want each of you to know that our coaches and wrestlers cannot thank you enough for all of your support and commitment to creating a great program. We as coaches are exploring options of carrying forward our staff and wrestlers to nearby institutions that are starting wrestling programs. They have been in contact with our president and are eager to take our program on in its entirety. This would be huge for all involved. I will have more info early next week once their administrative counsel irons out the details. The coaches have made two visits to campuses today alone and both meetings went surprisingly well. Regardless of what happens within the next week or so I feel very optimistic that we as a coaching staff will be able to help place any recruit or current student athlete into a program. If all goes as planned the vast majority of our recruits and current student athletes will be able to stick together as they continue their education and wrestling careers. The coaching staff plans to do so as well. I will keep you posted with updates within the next week. Sincerely, Coach Adams I sure hope it happens. Lots of good kids there.
June 3, 201610 yr It is great these kids will find a home to continue their sports, I hope their classes transfer as well.
June 3, 201610 yr It is great these kids will find a home to continue their sports, I hope their classes transfer as well. I'm hearing that Campbellsville is working with students to ensure their credits transfer should they choose CU. Other privates around the state are doing similar.
June 3, 201610 yr I'm hearing that Campbellsville is working with students to ensure their credits transfer should they choose CU. Other privates around the state are doing similar. I hope this happens for them. Sadly for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program specifically Cardiac, those students will have to go out of state because St Catharine was the only accredited school in Kentucky.
June 4, 201610 yr I hope this happens for them. Sadly for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program specifically Cardiac, those students will have to go out of state because St Catharine was the only accredited school in Kentucky. That's kind of what I was worried about. SCC had some very speciaiized programs geared toward nursing. Big demand in that field.
June 4, 201610 yr This is terrible for the faculty and the students. It is a very nice campus with a great view of the country side.
June 8, 201610 yr I heard Midway College will be accepting men in the fall and have hired all the booys coaches from SCC to start the mens sports at Midway. Anyone know if this is true?
