Cavs really probably should have dusted off Mozgov some in the previous series. Me quietly had a very good series against the Warriors last year.

 

Bench play is huge. This year Cleveland has a better bench, it's not Golden State's but no one's is.

 

Smith can't shut down Thompson, not discipline enough. Just have to hope he pesters him. Shumpert needs to make some shots offensively so they can play him.

 

Cavs need a rotation of guys to go against Curry. Irving will start on him, Delly will come in and likely try to injure him, in the crunch time minutes LBJ may have to take him.

 

Love and Thompson have to punish Golden State on the board and make them play a big man at all times.

I agree on Mozgov. Dude caused havoc and I thought he was on his way to being a top 5 Center in the league (the bar is low for good Centers).

Fatigue has to play a factor, doesn't it? That is what I find most remarkable about the Warriors' run this season. They have played playoff intensity basketball virtually all season in search for 73 wins. People went at the Warriors with all they had and they continuously rose to the challenge . LeBron took scheduled rests, has an array of players around him, minutes are down, and he looks as good as ever... if not at his playing peak, he is at his efficiency peak.

Speaking of LeBron's help, not sure many realize that Cleveland is the Golden State equivalent in the Eastern Conference. They are the second leading three point shooting team in the league. Totally different way of getting to that number with their star players. Steph and Curry may be the two best shooters in NBA history. LeBron is one of the worst shooters in the league. But he is the best distributor in the league and his guys will rain threes.

Mosgov is simply not mobile enough to be on the court with a team like the Warriors. The game is evolving in such a way, that the era of the great centers may be gone. The pace of play is just too fast.

I also thought it would be a good time to mention again how much I hate the nba.com website. Top 5 most un-user friendly website on the internet. I hate that place.

No chance JR Smith "shuts down" Klay Thompson. Zero chance.

JR, in his defense, can cause havoc on defense. Dude is legit. But he can also go completely south and be the worst player on the court on both ends. JR is generally the Cleveland barometer for as odd as that may seem.

I am not sure anything changes for how Golden State played Cleveland last year. The difference is Kevin Love and Channing Frye are shooting from three and not Shumpert. LeBron played his heart out, but his numbers were deceptively not great in the finals last year, by his standards.
