How can one week change that much? Last week people were saying how long of a season it would be for Lawrence County because of their scrimmage results. Now when SC went toe to toe with them they are almost locked in for a regional championship appearence?

Due to the new high school playoff system, Sheldon Clark is all but gauranteed a 2nd round birth. Belfry will be the regional contender from district 8.

BTW, I HATE the new system. No one in Belfry wants to play Pike Co. Central twice in a year.

One thing people arent realizing on here is that when and if LC can get their D on track then they are going to be REALLY TOUGH. The offensive fire power is there but cant win games scoring 30 points when the other team scores 40.

Looks like a shootout from the score. I thought the LC defense was supposed to carry this team this year? Congrats to the Cards on the win and good luck to LC next week.

SC's offensive line and big backs overpowered our little d-linemen. Our defense was really tired all night because SC seemed like they had the ball almost three entire quarters.

On a good note, LC seems like they have the potential to be really explosive on the offensive side of the ball. LC would get the ball and score in about four or five plays. Every score tonight for them was from about 50+ yards out. I bet SC had a clock advantage of 4-to-1.

Everybody is talking about junior fullback Coty Roberts, but what about sophomore halfback/qb/db/kickoff returner/punt returner Mark Fitzpatrick? For those who don't know who he is, he wore no. 3 last night. He look to be the fastest kid on the field. We have some really talented freshmen and sophomores and he's the best of the bunch. He scored from about 60 yards out.

Also, the LC kick return has some explosiveness as well. If you kick it deep, then you have to stop Fitzpatrick and Morgan Roberts. If you kick it on the ground, you have to worry about Robert Butcher, who returned one for a score last night.

I'm also pretty sure no one in district 8 will want to play Belfry Pburg or Sheldon Clark for the second time in a year. This district is going to be pretty tough this year.:flame:

Congrats SC. I am very suprised that the O line did so well in the season opener, as there is only 2 starters from last year. I can only see this team getting better. Hager is a great coach and should do well with this team this season. Best of luck to you boys.

How did the QB from Lawrence play? How about Kyle Carter, Goldsmith is really hyping him up, how did he play?

Kyle did a fine job all night he really needs some help on the D-side of the line and I'm sure coach G will work hard on this next week . On the O-side of the ball Kyle and Cody Patrick opened up some of the biggest hole I have seen in many of years these two horses work well together . Back to the D-line when Kyle is takeing on 2 & 3 guys at a time then he might not be getting the tackles but he is doing his job because if he has 3 guys on him that leaves at least 2 of are guys free to make the tackles. and if you play LC you better put at least 2 men on Kyle or he'll beat you every time.

Congrats to the Cards for a very tough running, ball control offense...... Good luck guys......

Good luck to the Bull Dogs the rest of the year.....
