GRC and Mason Co are the favorites. Montgomery Co is a dangerous team and could make some noise this year. Bourbon Co is a team I will be watching. Coach Mike Flynn is a great coach , not sure on his talent level this year, but look for them to be competitive. With so many of the teams with B-Ball players playing football, the cream should rise to the top around mid- February.

Cory Pelle is one of the top players in the 10th but don't think he can elevate SG to contender level.

 

Augusta just doesn't have the horses to compete night in and night out in the 10. SG & Augusta could pull off an upset every now and then but to make a run thru districts & regionals???

 

Campbell Co had a decent JV team last year but this will be a lot of those players first extended varsity minutes...lot of football players in that group might take them a while to get going.

 

Scott has a couple of quality varsity players in Sharp & Quigley but they are going to have to get some production from someone other than those two to be competitive. Miller was a quality reserve last year but he now becomes a major player for Scott...big change. if Scott doesn't get some production from other players besides the three mentioned it could be along season.

 

10th still runs through Mason, GRC & Brossart.

 

Agreed; for this year. I think Pendleton will have a nice team but can't see "the region running through Falmouth" this year.

I think Mason and Clark are head over heels better than anyone else in the region.Everyone else will have to prove themselves and there will be some surprises I'm sure.Brossart should not be mentioned with the royals and cards until they do something on the court.They are talked about every year and fold every year.I put them with all the other teams until they rise to the top and prove something.

I too put Mason at 1A..not because of Miller but because it is at Mason. I do believe that Jones will be hard for the Royals to go throught this year.

 

These two teams meet Feb 9th at GRC, but with both teams being in some tourneys together could meet several times this year...will be a battle.:thumb:

Since you seem to be so down on the Mustangs, I'm curious how your team's faired against them the last few years; or do you just pick one based on the kind of year they're having??

I'm not down on the Mustangs,they usually do pretty well.I am saying they are not on the same level this year as Mason and Clark.When they beat them this year then they will be not before IMO.My team has played them pretty good the last few years but will probably not beat them this year but you never know.If you listen to Striker no one will beat Brossart.He made some big predictions last year before the season started and they kind of fell short.He would be better off laying low and then hope they beat everyone.
