What is separating steven from the rest is his work ethic. The kid works his butt off. Nobody has any idea how hard he has worked the last 2-3 years. Its good to see great things happen for the kid that puts the time in.

Not bitter at all. I use to be. Back in my kids KBA days I told the Pulaski parents to have fun winning all of your middle school championships with hold backs, but how many state championship trophys does the high school have in their trophy case because of it. I now realize it's about trying to get that free education.

That is because Pulaski is a football school, they held back for football not basketball in most cases.

Please stop it with the comparisons of Steven and Danny to the 16 year olds in the state. Everyone knows they are not 16 years old. And if you've stood next to Steven you know he has a very developed frame much ahead of most 16 yr olds. Steven does work extremely hard at his craft; and congrats on his recent success. You guys make it seem like you're a bad person when you point out the obvious that a lot of these kids are "held back". Like holding back is some new badge of honor

Are you saying that he is already 17 but is playing 16U...how is that?

I thought that outside of High School Ball that AAU competition was done by Age and Proof of Age was needed.

 

I know "Hold Backs" can make some kids Middle School or JV All-Americans. I was under the impression that outside of school, players played with same age group or could play "Up"...but they couldn't play "Down" in age.

He dropped 44 on a good Speice Indy team 16U...Later he dropped 3 while playing 17U. I'm not knocking Steven; I like him and Danny....I just think it's absurd to compare them to 16 yr old kids in the state...BTW they both will be 18 before this calendar year ends

He was supposed to play 17u EYBL with We All Can Go and then WACG realized they needed the out of state roster spots and told Danny and Steven that their services were no longer needed.

That is all across the county 17u is 2017 class, 16u is 2018 class, 15u is 2019 class and so on. Every elite team in the nation for 17u has 18 year olds fixing to turn 19 on them.

Good point about 17U....but this kid plays 16U and is about to turn 18yrs old. Just because everyone else does it doesn't make it right. The funny part to me is he is compared to 16yr olds in the state, in some instances 15yr olds....crazy

Then why don't you compare them to all of the class of 2018 sophomores in the state like the rest of the country does. Steven is a sophomore just like all the other teams he is playing against. Anyone who thinks only 16 year olds are playing at the sophomore level is looking at sports with tunnel vision.
