Quinton Baker arrested in Bowling Green

Featured Replies

I hate hearing it.

I hope someone - maybe an assistant coach - maybe a counselor - really anyone - can get through to Quinton.

Quinton, you have physical qualities/skills that most of us can only dream about. The more you advance those skills the more successful you will be in life. Don't let anything stand between you and success.

Success equals Freedom.

Doubt it was a one time deal, as it isn't with most of us. Many people do things until they get caught (by law enforcement, school officials, parents, etc.) or just eventually grow up without ever being caught, or just don't really like what we thought we would. It is how the person (we) respond to that being caught that I think is being alluded to.

Hopefully, Q will respond in a positive manner to that.

I already knew the answer actually!:thumb: Anybody that can line up that many Charges in one Traffic stop isn't doing it for the very 1st time. Like I said, he was 1 more nasty charge away from having significant Jail time....IMO! Hope he figures it out.....Love me some JJ Jude but Quinton Baker was way better of a Football player than the Johnsonville Jet! Again...IMO! And yes I saw both play at a High level multiple times...

Quinton Baker was as special of a running back that I have seen in person at the high school level. I am by no means an Ashland fan but he was special.

I hate to hear this and hope this is his 1 young stupid mistake. I agree with posts above that this was probably not his first mistake, but the important thing is that it is his last.

If he cleans up the things going on off the field he will have an opportunity to do some special things on the field.

Praying for this kid.

I've known and watched him play ball since he was in grade school, he's not a bad kid. You'd be amazed at how fast a community can turn on someone, from praising him as their star to some of the things I've seen written about him lately on social media. He's a tough kid, who made a mistake and hopefully this is his reality check and he shows exactly how great he can be on and off the field.

Zeke Pike, Jason Hatcher and James Quick all got in trouble in college, possession of marijuana. One player never got the message and his college career never took off. One player kept pushing the limit and just had his senior season taken away. And one got the message loud and clear.

I'm hopeful that Quinton will learn from this and be alright, but it's up to him on which path he'll take.

Living in the NEKY area, around 7 mi. from Ashland, KY. where the Baker kid played h.s., I'm being very honest in saying I am not one bit surprised. The kid has all the speed, talent enough to play D1 but was in/out of trouble a lot around our area. Not just a couple times along with for different offenses ... and was for the most part swept under the rug by people in administration and h.s. coaching. i don't know how true it is but had heard this was the reason that he "de-commited from Marshall. I was told that D. Holliday heard of problems and he "de commited Baker". as I said, that was rumored and I can't say for certain. I do know that the Baker kid's troubles were well known in our area.

Sad thing is that some kids would give anything to have that kind of talent, opportunity and some that do can't see or appreciate what opportunities they have in front of them. I do hope the kid gets his life straightened up, He's young enough to still be a productive person, be it in athletics or life.

Your kidding right? What lesson are you teaching that young person? I know....Entitlement and I don't have to play by the same rules as the Average Athlete! Anything for a District title I guess....

I'm not sure if you're talking against me or not but yes, from what I understand there were several "incidents lets call them" that were passed by, let go with no disciplinary measures from their coaching staff or school. From what I understand, some were "Legal / Law Enforcement" issues I can't further comment on due to bgp rules. As I said ... I was posting what I heard / know about and definitely not that I condone , even if I were an Ashland fan. Actually, anything but letting it go would had been my choice bc if so, this incident may not had happened should a strong lesson had been taught before.
