Beyonce's "Lemonade" on HBO

Featured Replies

Who watched?

One of the more fascinating hours and yet also strange.

She calls it a "visual album."

I recorded it and will definitely watch it again.

So no one else watched this?

Watched 2 minutes of it. Thought it was ignorant.

I was going to until my sister told me I wouldn't like it. I think Beyonce is very beautiful and talented but I don't get into her music. I'd watch a documentary on her but I really don't want to hear her music for an hour.

I can think of, literally, a million other things I'd rather do.

There is no amount of money that would get me to sit through that garbage.

The more music she puts out, the less I like her.

I'm with you in that I've never really gotten into her music. I own zero Bey music.

However, this is all about the way she presented it. Fascinating. Her music was such a minor part of this.

She has definitely made a move on her music though. I get LA's comment. Her music lately has gotten more "in your face" and more "pro-black" and she is taking a stand. That actually makes her music more interesting to me vs her generic stuff she put out before.

She is a waste of time. I wouldnt devote a sec of my life watching her bark out songs.

My sister said it had a feminist-pro woman angle to it. She told me it was empowering for women and that it was revealing about her marriage. I saw where Rachel Roy may have outed herself as Jay's fling. Did you get that same kind of vibe from it that my sister did?

I may watch it now since you say there isn't much music in it. I think I still have a day or so to watch it before it disappears.

Agreed on her music content. It does make her more interesting. I just don't get into women singing. That may sound bad but it's the truth. Women singers, women rappers....ehhhh, I'm not a woman. I ain't feeling it.

She has made a living, a GREAT living, by being beautiful and writing lyrics that you need a PHD in philosophy to understand b/c they just don't make sense. I could see this show being difficult to follow.

I'll pass on watching this hour long promotion to get people on Tidal.

My wife hasn't watched it but media outlets are reporting that Bey and Jay are on the skids and she was telling me they are in trouble. I had to explain to my wife that they may have had problems but that she released Lemonade on Tidal Saturday evening and Jay-Z owns Tidal so obviously they have mended those fences. :lol2:

Right, I'm not knocking the hustle., but that's exactly what they are doing. Build up some good drama. Twitter went crazy. Great publicity for the site.
