I'll be honest, even though it's still the best show on tv by a mile, I'm losing my patience with it. That entire Riverrun plot was useless. It's over now and Blackfish dies off screen, how stupid.

 

Arya story line? You gotta be kidding me. Lets review this, she gets stabbed twice, slashed once, jumps into lake in a world where infections exist, finds an actress who somehow can heal her. Then she gets chased down by another assassin to be and eventually gets beat by this mangled girl. With wounds re-opened and no friends, makes it back to Jaqen, defies him and because apparently there are no faceless man rules just says hey I'm outta here, be okay with it.

 

Tyrions on screen time has been him making jokes and drinking 99% of the time. He made the one deal with the masters and now that's thrown out the window. Remember that dragon scene with him? Nothing has come of that.

 

I could keep going but you can see that D&D have struggled more this season than in pasts because they could follow the books. This season has been very meh for me. Yes there were a lot of resolutions made that book readers have been waiting for a long time for, but that can't be the reasons the season is good. I know the next two episodes are gonna be awesome because that's how the show works, but there is a lot of inexcusable content in this season.

Seriously though, it's been a hit or miss season. Some people have loved it, some haven't. Like I said there have been awesome moments this season but there have been too many times where I just couldn't comprehend why things were happening.

The most interesting thing that happened was when she decided she was done with it and to go out on her own and that made it all of two episodes before they said "Okay, we're done pursuing you now", but at least the five-episode training montage is over.

 

The nature of the show necessarily means that all the storylines are going to get the short shrift on details and full unity, but hers felt especially hollow this year.

 

One episode of the Hound and Ian McShane wasn't nearly enough. I didn't get much out of that all told unless we see a true reformation now that he appears to be with the Brotherhood and it can adequately be traced back to him.

 

And yeah, I definitely agree that the Blackfish story get chopped in a way that was pretty unfulfilling.

I'm very critical of the show but it's for good reason, we are talking about a show that will be in contention for one of the best shows of all time. BWB going North sounds freaking awesome though.

My biggest complaint is I have to wait six days to watch the next episode.

I'm trying to think of how it will impact the plot and Jon Snow's angle and work back from there.

 

I'm guessing they've held off revealing it until after his fight with Ramsay. But once Bran shows us, how will the rest of the characters find out? How will it change Jon's direction?

I think it will be a break in between battles in next episode. It will be a big reveal Jon isn't Ned's bastard.

I agree GA. The story arcs for some of the subplots have been waster (Dorne, RiverRun, Bravos, etc.) they could have done more but I think they realized they messed up and tried ending them.

 

No excuse to do RiverRun the way they did. Just stupid.

 

I still love the show but some decisions they've made recently are just dumb, from a story standpoint

I think the "rumor" Cersci was speaking of is about the wildfire caches under the city.
