Game of Thrones: Season 6

Featured Replies

This coming Sunday April 24th, 9pm on HBO.

I am eagerly awaiting this, a few cliff hangers from last year with Jon Snow seemingly killed, Dany left by her dragon to the Dothraki, and Tyrion ruling in Her stead while others look for her.

I have been binging the first 5 season last few weeks, still have all of season 5 to get thru before Sunday if possible. And have to work until 11pm on Sunday, but will watch once I get home.

Can't wait, and the non-book readers should be happy that us that have read them won't know what's going to happen anymore, they have mostly caught up to the books.

I've been counting down the days for about 2 months. :lol2:

Best show on TV. My hope, as a book reader, is that the show diverges from the books going forward. It's good enough to stand on it's own, and it won't be giving away major plot twists still to come in The Winds of Winter or A Dream of Spring.

Same here. It seems they've already veered away from the books on some of the major plot lines, so it won't spoil this reader. But I think we are going to learn a lot about Jon Snow that can't be avoided.

The Dany, Jon, Tyrion, Cersei, and Arya storylines are locked IMO. The rest are pretty much fair game.

Yup, its coming. I hope the show just ruins every single spoiler with the books. I no longer care about the books and have put them in the back of mind. GRRM clearly doesn't care about finishing them or he wouldn't be on year 6 of the next book.

Agree to disagree on GRRM. It's been frustrating to wait, but the creative process isn't one of those things you can simply muscle through. I'd much rather him turn in the books when he thinks they are ready instead of foisting a True Detective Season Two garbage pile on us as a conclusion.

He now has even less motivation to finish them. I honestly don't expect them to be finished..

Agree... To disagree again :lol2:. I have to think if he actually put the work into writing he would have finished the book years ago. He delays and delays and does other projects which push it back even further.

GRR. Has had time to wrap up the final books. It may be a ploy; he may have them finished leading fans on.

The first book was released in 1997, Martin isn't in the best of health. I fully expect him to die before they are finished. He's never focused on these books anyway. He has always had a ton of other projects going and been a condescending jerk whenever people asked him about it. Back in my LiveJournal days I used to follow him and I grew to despise him quite quickly. Only thing I liked about him was these books and given his ridiculous delays it has fast destroyed that for me too.

The show will likely be the definitive version of it when all is said and done because he likely will never finish them. At this point I am probably okay with that.

Can't wait. I don't believe any of us actually think Snow will not return. Yes he's dead, but will be resurrected and lead the fight against the Boltons IMO.

That would be ignoring the real threat. The Boltons are nothing compared to the threat beyond the wall.

Its not ignoring anything. Obviously there's a big battle between the wildlings and the Boltons. I think snow is leading that battle. They're leaving the wall. No way they try and stay to Fight the white walkers as they stand now.

The wall is their best bet at stopping them outside of dragonfire.

The wall is their best bet at stopping them outside of dragonfire.

But if you think bigger picture you know that's what's going to happen. That wall isn't going to stop them and after the watchers of the wall killing Snow, I doubt he'd hang around after he's resurrected since they're trying to keep that from happening.

My theory still stands that Jon is brought back and knowing that Stannis had went to fight the Boltons he follows in hopes of bringing them back to battle the white walkers but once he gets there he sees that Stannis is dead and ends up in battle against the Boltons.

There's a huge battle coming up and I believe that one will be with the white walkers and I believe another battle will be with the wildlings and whatever wall defects and the Boltons.

I may be wrong, as I often am, but I could see it happening.
