You have a kid who moves into the district from Indianapolis for instance, also from a private school of the same background and they cannot enroll?

I have no problem with the answer.

 

I was curious as to Bill's age compared to that of "normal" high school seniors. The answer is that he would be a year older, which is not that out of the ordinary for athletes who tend to get held back, but would still be eligible for play as a senior in Ky, WVa, or Ohio.

 

I accept Scooterbob's wishes for our success, but choose to disassociate ourselves from being one of Rose Hill's "private cousins."

 

We have always run a clean program comprised of home-grown players from our own feeder parishes and consider it a disadvantage and a sham to have to compete with those who choose to take advantage of their private school status to gain athletic advantage, thereby giving all of we private schools a black-eye.

 

I don't understand how anybody from the Diocese of Covington can throw rocks like you do at Rose Hill. I guess $85 million can buy a lot of righteousness. Nobody has ever proven that Rose Hill has done anything wrong.

My intentions were not to take on the entire Rose Hill nation. This whole issue has been hashed and re-hashed so often that I can't believe that I've allowed myself to be drawn back into it again.

 

The opinions that I have expressed are my personal opinions and possibly not that of our high school. This whole thing is about choosing not to be considered one of RH's "private cousins." I'm sure a lot of other private schools in the state would join me in that sentiment.

 

My opinion is not based on the current "Bill" situation, but the initial coup of keeping a group of AAU players from different states together to form a single "All-Star" team by taking advantage of Rose Hill's private school status. Just because something is legal, doesn't necessarily make it right.

 

No, I could not go out and gather the best and brightest from the Greater Cincinnati area, run a shuttle service for them, have their tuition paid for or waived, and bring them to Brossart to become a state-wide contenders, even though it might be legal. Our administration wouldn't stand for it. Legitimate transfers are "legitimate." We certainly wouldn't turn down a legitimate transfer, but that's not what we are talking about here.

 

In 2003 when Rose Hill played St. Henry in the "A" State tournament, (just after Bill transferred out), it would have been tragic for the Cru to have been beaten by them. St. Henry developed a team of homegrown kids who jelled into one of the finest teams in the state as seniors. They were what the All "A" is all about, not gathering up a bunch of players from three states and depositing them in a private school under the guise of obtaining a "Christian" education in order to gain an athletic advantage.
