March 25, 201610 yr What about the lead singer from Krocus? I actually read something years ago that said Marc Storace (singer for Krokus) almost got the gig initially instead of Brian Johnson... They were both in the band's final 3 choices... So, interesting that you thought of him.

Expanding on what you said about the Krokus dude here he is singing a very AC/DC like Krokus tune from 34 years ago sounding a whole lot like Bon Scott and Brian Johnson all mixed together. I have no idea if he can still sound this way, but you've made a good call bringing him up.
March 25, 201610 yr Another guy that reminds me of Brian Johnson is Dan McCafferty of Nazareth demonstrated here in one of their biggest tunes Hair of the Dog from 1975. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyXz6eMCj2k Dan McCafferty is now 69 years old and here he is in late 2014 singing w/help Hair of the Dog. Kudos for him for even trying, but he's likely fine for just novelty performances once in a while, but probably not a full blown tour singing 20 high energy tunes a night. Still it's pretty cool that he gets out there and still kicks it. I'll post video in next post...

Click on gif for photo slide show lzzy hale halestorm gif | WiffleGif I could get on board with Lzzy Hale fronting AC/DC. She's much easier on the eyes than Brian Johnson, and can actually sing. And while we are on the subject of females fronting the band, Pink does a version of Highway to Hell, and it isn't half bad. She's got the chops to pull it off. I could also live with Jesse James Dupree from Jackyl. Sounds a lot like Brian Johnson. Really though, while AC/DC was my first favorite band, and I've really like everything they've done (yes even Flick of Switch and Fly on the Wall), I'd be happy if they just rode off into the sunset.

March 25, 201610 yr This was my favorite song back in 1983... I'm with ya. I dug this album. I used to try to push it on my AC/DC lovin' friends and they wouldn't bite. They thought that it was a rip off. Sure it is, but it rocked and that's all I cared about. Because I was ate up with AC/DC at the time, anybody that sounded like them was cool with me. Don't get me wrong, I still dig a good AC/DC tune, but I don't listen to Highway to Hell everyday of my life like I did when I was 15.
March 25, 201610 yr I actually know Dan McCafferty. He use to get up and jam with the band I worked for Tangent. This was in the late 70's and early 80's in the Daytona area. Really good guy. That is very cool. He's seems like a very cool dude. I've always been amazed by his natural gravel thing that actually with him sounds natural. I love it too when he adds emotion to it like he does with his version of Love Hurts. A lot a people would never get away with such a voice like that but his rawness is awesome. It blows my mind that at his age he can actually still pull this off and it still be pretty interesting.
