Voter Registration IDs

Featured Replies

I would like someone to explain to me why the Dems are against this? We have ID's for everything else in America. Why would the greatest country in the world not want to check voter IDs? Im open to hear the reasoning behind this.

I agree that they should be required, however the only time we ever hear about this is right before an election.

If you want to put something in place, it needs to be for the NEXT election (in 2020) and it needs to be set in stone well in advance. You have to give everyone the opportunity to acquire one before making it law.

Said now for the last 4 election cycles.

I have no issues with requiring an ID to vote. As long as an id is easy to get, I'm ok. I've lived and voted in 3 different state and have always had to show an ID.

Mcpapa care to comment? We dont need no YOUTUBE on this one.

Sure.

I am not opposed to the notion of presenting a valid ID at the polling place. Guidelines must be made far enough in advance to ensure that those who don't have one can get one in plenty of time for elections (see post 2).

But the notion of doing so to prevent election fraud is laughable. The brief video I posted is the real reason that certain states make these proposals just before election day. It's just that state officials aren't usually thick enough to admit it, like the PA House Majority Leader did four years ago in the video I linked.

Why are the Dems so against them then? I say pass the law now for the next election. Give the Dems 4 years to find a fake ID person for all the illegals.....:sssh:

I believe that it's up to each state to decide how to address the issue.

Looks like 35% (17) of the states Do Not Require IDs according to the link above

Of the 17 states that Do Not Require an ID only Nebraska Voted for Romney in 2012

Of the 17 states that Do Not Require an ID only Colorado and West Virginia voted for McCain in 2008

Looks like the states not requiring any ID are Democrat strong holds for the most part.
