What a battle! It was the Beaumont Show early in the game. He scored four of their first six touchdowns. The QB got the other two.

 

Beaumont for Male is amazing! He is the real deal and is going to make a lot of noise in the Mr. Football race! We couldn't get near him. He made moves like I've never seen. It was like he had a force field around him. But later in the game, our defense seemed to find the answer to neutralizing him a little bit.

 

We looked really weak on defense early in the game. Male raced out to a 41-12 lead in the first quarter. But we fought our way back. Good conditioning started to show results later, as the Birds offense started to make headway. Good games by Koester, Conner, Cecil and others.

Did Male throw the ball much? How did the QB look? I assume Male played its standard 11-in-the-box defense (how else can you explain 120 total points?)

We had at least two kick-off return touchdowns and another stopped at the two or so. Conner is going to ba a force in that area!

 

Can't wait to see what they can do with Jordan Kramer and some of the others back! :eek:

 

Male threw a lot; but more in the first half than the second. IMO the QB wasn't spectacular throwing; but he ran well and scored some touchdowns.

 

I'll let some of the experts give you a more accurate analysis when they get home.

I'll tell ya what if there is another back better than Beaumont in Kentucky I would like to see it. That kid is an absolute STUD........He can do it all. I even think he packs the equipment on the bus WOW!!!!! Highlands looked pretty good except for the tackling part. They need some serious help on that. I'm not going to mention any names but the kicker needs to stick to kicking if you know what I mean....I'll leave it at that. But overall not to bad from the little school in Ft. Thomas.........:thumb: HHS JV and Freshman won 2tds to none for Male.

They will need to work on that some more; but that's what the pre-season is for. All in all, I think they made a fine showing against the #1 team in 4A.

I was kidding obviously. Yes, I am sure the coaches will break down the game film and let them see where they can get better and yes I'm sure they did better than the vast majority of teams would have done. That's really a great scrimage for both teams probably to help them get better.

So after jumping out 41-12, the Birds outscored the Dawgs 40-27 which isnt bad.
