I've got a boat, but just for fishing. It's a Cheetah. It will max out at about 40 mph...

I have a fishing boat and it is tough to keep afloat with the plug out.

I have two boats,,,A 21ft. Stratos bassboat, and a 32ft. Envision with twin 454,s...................................

Boating is and always has been my #1 hobby. I grew up on and now live near KY Lake and have currently have my 4th cruiser and 2nd jet ski. Also have owned 1 ski boat. Living near a lake like KY Lake boating is a very popular hobby. I lost my 2nd cruiser, a 1987 Wellcraft St, Tropaz, in a marina fire that claimed 54 boats back in 2001. My 3rd cruiser was a 1989 Wellcraft Gran Sport, I lost it in a tornado in the same marina in 2005. I currently have a 1999 Rinker Viesta Vee. Its a 30 footer, which is smaller than the two I lost but is a neat boat in its own right. It has a genset with air so its ideal for staying the night on. We usually spend nights out on it in the bays of the land between the lakes on sand beeches much of the time. I look forward to Fri nights and heading to the boat. THe huge bays on KY Lake in the Land Between the Lakes are my get awat from the real world. Because of the remoteness of the LBL its easy to get away and prk on ones own sand beach.

Been there:thumb: Best advice you'll receive in this thread!

I have a houseboat on Lake Herrington and 2 jet skis, we have been houseboaters for about 15 years and before that we ran around in a runabout.

We love the water and the atmosphere.!

I'm still looking to buy a boat!!! No luck yet though!

I have been on and around many different boats over the years. My wife and I would like to get one at some point in the near future. My only problem is, as with most other hobbies, the type of watercraft I really like are WAY out of my budget. In reality all I need is something we can pull a couple of tubes behind and have fun with the kids. (I know I know...that is pretty much any boat!!)

Dont feel bad, happens to way more boaters than you would think. We use to sit in chairs on the dock when we had a boat slip with a view of the launch ramp just to see what all would happen. Usually did it when a storm would spring up. Saw several divorces happen on that ramp. Lots of plugs left out too and somehow the husbands or boyfriends usually tried to blame the wife or girlfriend for it. Nevere could figure that out til it happened to me

Own 3 boats. None for "boating" I fish and I hunt waterfowl.

Charlie, where do you waterfowl hunt?

Several places... Brookville, Indiana, Mancester, Rome, and Addyston all in Ohio. We make an annual trip to Kansas. Also a farm in Warsaw.

I am a waterfowler myself and am fortunate enough to live in deep WKY where opportunities are abundant. I hunt on a lease in Fulton County and occasionally get an invite to hunt in Ballard. Almost exclusively a duck guy. Geese are getting harder to come by down here except for our resident geese or when we get weather that is cooperative but that is getting rare the last few years

Geese are hard to come by everywhere. They're so tamed now they're like a pigeon. We'll have to hook up on that leased land of yours!
