At the top. Hard to believe that Middleton has not got more praise on here....he is a player. Another player that should step up this year is Scott from Mason.

You will also see several players from GRC step it up this year.

Their best player is the point guard Jesse Hall. He has been starting since his sophomore year and played a lot during the freshman season. He should have a good season.

 

Besides Hall, the Polar Bears return four other seniors and a couple of juniors who are all solid. Their overall record last year was 13-15. With a new coach I'd say they would finish about the same as last year. They'll always be a contender in the class "A" field of the 10th, but in the district they have to contend with Mason Co.

GoldSunrise does GRC have anyone coming up from the freshmen class that could add to the varsity this year?

Tavin Lay, Brandon Hollonman, are two Freshman from Clark Middle. Several 8th graders coming up that should have a big impact in a few years.

Sophomores this year are Kendall...first name escapes me this morning, and Robert Hatton, should have a impact on the varsity level this year.

I won't try to put them in the top 10 in the preseason but there could be a couple sleepers in Augusta in seniors F Jeremy Hardymon and PG Josh White. They helped lead Augusta to it's first region berth last year since 1982. I must also mention St. Pat's G/F Chris Owens, a fine player in his own right. Make an attempt to see these young men play, it will be well worth it.

As I stated in another thread, Deming will return with Travis Massey, Billy Graves and Nathan Mitchell, it'll be up in the air who Coach Johnson will start at the other remaining spots.
