Maybe you should grab a whistle so you can call the games how you like?

 

I just wish the officials would go to the screaming parents and hand them their whistle and say, "if you can do a better job, have at it".

 

I will never understand why parents continually scream and yell at officials........they have the better vantage point and it's not like they're out there to screw your kid or team over.

Well first of all I think the "little brother" comment by Bench is a little much. Lets face some cold hard facts that if it were not for the Diocese "allowing" students to go from the Brossart feeder schools to NCC, the school on the hill would be in serious trouble....so I would suggest that "little brother" is keeping things running smoothly on the hill. But I just get the feeling you really have a hatred or strong dislike for the boys on the hill and one thing I can say is the relationship between the two schools (mutual respect, etc) has never been better.

The diocese cannot mandate where kids go to school. There's this thing called free will, and parents/students pick the school that is best for them, whatever the reason. To say that NCC is only alive because students who "should" go to Brossart don't is inaccurate. NCC always has the lowest amount of district 8th graders, yet they exceed those numbers. This year, NCC has 70 8th graders in their 4 district schools. Brossart has over 100. That has been the case for many years. Families choose NCC for a reason, and no one can tell them they should go elsewhere. Bottom line. I'm paying the checks for my kids to go to high school, so they will go where I (my wife and kids) want them to go.

Actually if the diocese chose to district their schools and force district boundaries they could do this despite how much you write your checks for. They can, if they so choose, make tuition higher for "out of parish students". They have chosen not to. You can give your free will speech all you want but the diocese has chosen NOT to do this and they COULD do this anytime they wish to. However, I do not expect them to because of the detrimental effect on certain schools. And yes this has been the case for many years. Please be careful not to fall off that soapbox when you descend out amongst us mere mortals to "write those checks." And for what it is worth I am not saying I disagree with the stance the diocese has taken, I was pointing out that they could make things very difficult on NCC if they chose to impose any restrictions. NCC by its nature has feeder schools who are "landlocked" and not much room for growth at all. They have to have students come from the Brossart feeder schools to fill the seats.

Yes I agree....my fault for going on a monologue but I hate the lack of respect or ill will certain fans show the other school. Lots of mutual respect between the schools and yes Schultz was indeed fantastic! Weyer really carried a heavy load and I think it really showed how truly gifted Hall is because without him NCC really struggled.

Tuition was higher for out of district students for many years. The diocese WAS DOING THIS! Then families just started switching parishes to the district high school they wanted to attend. Priests were furious over losing people just so they could save some money to attend the school they want and the diocese stopped that policy. They opened it wide up. They understand that families can go anywhere and limit in school recruiting to districts only. I've been around a long time and am very involved in the schools, if that helps add ethos to my claims. If not, oh well.

Shout out to me niece who got the last minute nod to sing the National anthem. Love when students or pep bands perform the song.

Does a screaming parent always know less than an official? Agree on your point but some of these officials blatantly in the games show certain teams an coaches favouritism.

Not to start anything but ST Joe's could become a feeder School for NCC, That would even out the numbers.
