Y'all do realize since Jason Morris left McLean county they have averaged 5 wins a season with practically the same roster and the same coaching staff the guy is not a good choice for Henderson county IMO

 

Obviously you don't realize what a mess the entire program was when Morris took over at McLean. Everything from no real off-season program to the schedule to number of players on the roster... EVERYTHING was a mess! Jason started the process of changing all that during the year that he was there and the next coach reaped some of the benefits of that once he got there. It definitely sped up the process for the next coach for sure. Morris didn't stick around to reap those rewards himself because I'm sure he thought the OC position at Henderson was just too good to pass up. I have no idea whether Henderson will hire him or not, but if they do he will do just fine.

I'm starting to wonder if that is true. Morris would be a fine coach but there seem to be a vocal group in Henderson who would work against that potential with their negativity.

There are vocal groups like that everywhere. They mysteriously disappear when you start winning.

Your nuts or have no idea the things that Morris started that year he was there to say that. More than likely you are a parent at McLean that he made mad and have an ax grind here. Or you could be a certain former Booster club official who got his feelings hurt because he wasn't allowed to do whatever he wanted to do when Morris took the job at McLean.

For the record... I like Coach Wagner and respect the job he's been doing there. All I'm saying is somebody doesn't know everything about the situation when Jason took over there to disagree with what I've said.

I have no clue what Morris did at McLean but i can tell you our offense was very predictable and Coach Lewis didn't hire him as first choice he had a guy coming with him and came to Henderson for a few weeks and then got a head coaching job at Harrison,ind.

By your handle I can assume you are a player or former player. The first thing you can thank Morris for is putting a schedule together that allowed that program to win games. He knew they would win a few games in 2013 he just thought the opportunity at Henderson as OC was better than beating his head against a wall at McLean. I don't know if he would be successful or not but to bash him for his offense when you have no idea of the inner workings of that program is ridiculous. Again there will be no John Edge's or Chuck Smith's applying this time so I am curious as to what the administration has in store.

Just seems to raise a little curiosity to me that someone who is a potential candidate at one of the better football jobs in the state got told no by a bottom of the barrel program like Webster.

And Webster has made good decisions, when?

I dont Coach Morris from Adam. I do know Henderson was not without talent on the offensive side and the offense seemed to get worse as the season went on.

Plausible but, he was a assistant at Webster before going to McLean so I can assume admin. knew what subject/ classes he taught ahead of time. Then called him in for a interview and didn't hire him. In all likelihood I believe if not having a teaching spot for him was the reason, they would have never called him in for a interview in the first place.

HC was a mess this year, Lewis ran the spread offense at the beginning of the year and at the end they ran it 35 times a game, if not for Carter they probably wouldn't have won a game. No passing game, period. Whoever they bring in has a long road ahead and zero chance of winning a district as long as the McCrac-a-monster is in their district.

I am surprised HC hasn't won region championships the last few years. I thought the spread offense was going to push them over the top. The Veer is what held HC back for a few years.

Lol okie, The Veer won 9 games in row for 5 years took us to four straight region title games. Two of those games we where in losing at Lou Male 14-7 in overtime, a game that we lead 7-0 and late in the game we threw instead of running the ball at the 2 yard they picked it off and ended up tying the game. The other lose Lou Bulter up 24-10 going into the fourth and got beat 31-24 in overtime. The Veer worked because Henderson will never have enough players out their to run the spread. Last year we didn't have a qb or a wr i think you would need at least one of those to run the spread. But we did have the school's all time leading rusher with over 3800 yards can you imagine what he would have had in the Veer or Wish Bone.
