The public criticism of a guy who doesn't even have the job is bad. The hiring committee is not on bgp taking advice so whats the point? Creating negativity in the community is a cancer. What if Morris does get the job? Now there's an atmosphere of negativity before he ever coaches a game as HC. What if the new coach keeps Morris? Still a negative atmosphere and the new HC knows you're not going to be afraid to slam him too without knowing all there is to know about a situation. Coaches don't play, players play. You don't know if he had the players at McLean. First year HC often isn't the one making the schedule. Assistants do what their HC tells them to do. You don't know what Tony Lewis told him he could and couldn't do. Injured players don't play at all and assistants also don't make the schedule.

The success or failure of a program is on a number of people. The HC is a part of a puzzle and unbeknownst to a lot of fans the HC isn't even the one sitting at the top of the pyramid. Depending on the school system that is either the Principal or Superintendent.

Very Very Good Points. I think Morris is a guy that will get it done. The question is does Henderson like the direction the program is in? If so, then Morris is their guy. IF not, then it's open.

Ill say this Morris was full control of the offense. The only reason why his name got brought up was because the chief is trying his best to keep Josh Boston put. I love Morris as a person and he would be a great coach at a smaller school but not going to work at 6-a school and one thing Lewis did wrong was give guys to much play calling responsibility.

In smaller school settings your resources are far worse then in a big school setting. Now some small school settings have big resources, 98% don't. There are some Big schools who just don't care about football. Example, Dunbar High school in Lexington cares more for Cheerleading then they do Football. Fact.

If your at Henderson you need to win 8 or 9 games a year to keep everybody happy like duffer and clay did. At a smaller school like McLean if they can win 9 games one year then 3 or 4 the next 5 years they are ok with that. Of course mayfield expects to win every year, and then their are a few big schools like Dunbar that they don't care to much.

If people believe Josh Boston isnt't the best candidate due to lack of expirence (1 yr as HC 7-4). How can the same people justify the hiring of someone with the same lack of expirence but way worse results (1 yr as HC 0-10).

 

I also don't understand or comprehend the notion that success or lack thereof as a assistant coach isn't a indicator of your potential as a head coach. I've never seen at any level of football a assistant coach get promoted to head coach without being successful in their current position.

I like Boston but let's not get too far ahead. He beat one team with a winning record (Hart Co.). The rest of Union's schedule was pitiful.

Y'all do realize since Jason Morris left McLean county they have averaged 5 wins a season with practically the same roster and the same coaching staff the guy is not a good choice for Henderson county IMO
