January 21, 201610 yr Looking at this one. Is this a decent area? 841 Mountain View Lodge | Gatlinburg Cabins | Chalet Village Cabin Rentals As RTS said not as easy to get to, but shouldn't be a deal breaker. We have stayed in the area with that company. Everything went well.
January 21, 201610 yr That's pretty high and a winding road pretty much like Ski Mountain. We actually got snowed in our driveway once on a visit. Luckily I had stayed there before and had tossed a snow shovel in the Tahoe in case it snowed. After a couple of hours of shoveling and melting we were out.
January 21, 201610 yr There really isn't a bad cabin in Gatlinburg. If you're paying at least $100 a night, you're moving past the hotel rates. Gatlinburg is full of cabins and hotels. Keep in mind if you stay in Gatlinburg, your in the mountains. Most of the tourist attractions are 15 mins down the road in Pigeon Forge, you will see them all on the into Gatlinburg. You still have the strip and plenty to do in Gat though.
January 21, 201610 yr I'm sitting in Gatlinburg right now. This area here got around an inch or two of snow and you would have thought the world was ending. EVERYTHING shut down. Schools, Post Office, City offices, restaurants, bars, everything. Got to the little grocery right before they were closing and got some bologna, bread and couple of pops. I've been here before in the winter but have never seen it totally shut down like this.

January 21, 201610 yr ?? (just not my night RTS, not getting it) Just saying they probably close everything down now because they know tourists will screw everything up. Just joking, of course.
