mcpapa Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 ...Jordan Spieth is pretty good. -30, 8-shot win in Hawaii.
The Professor Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 If I read the Herald-Leader correctly this was Par 73 course. Pros rarely play anything above Par 71 these days. He definitely scorched it. -31 is the PGA record, set by Erie Els.
OlDog75 Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I want to be him when I grow up. I'd like to be his caddie! Or hell, his golf club cleaner guy.

Yes, but a par 73 typically means more par 5's, which are much easier for pros to birdie than par 4's or 3's. Basically it is typically easier to shoot a 65 on a par 73 than a 63 on a par 71, even though both are 8 under. Don't get me wrong. When you shoot 30 under and nobody else does better than 22 under, that is crazy...Tiger like. Beating everyone by 8 strokes or more in a very good field is very impressive.
