Randy Parker Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Cooper Robb with 20 points for Scott County. Michael Moreno with 20 & 12.
strongopenyon Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Billy Hicks has got himself a nice, ultra-young team. Henry Clay did not shoot it well (1-15 from the 3-point line), but the young Cardinals can play. Scott County started three freshmen, a sophomore, and a junior.
jblanton Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 They are the real deal. This team will for sure get Billy his 1,000 win by the time they are seniors.
charliefleet Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I hear the eighth grade group he has coming is strong too. Will have a tough road this year in region but look out the the next three.

Not only did the 3's not fall, but they had some trouble finishing in close as well. Cooper Robb had a huge night for Scott Co as they move to 17-1
Rez Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Cooper Robb with 20 points for Scott County. Michael Moreno with 20 & 12. Are you sure Robb only had 20? Saw a tweet that he had 16 at halftime and he definitely scored more than 4 in the second half.
Randy Parker Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Are you sure Robb only had 20? Saw a tweet that he had 16 at halftime and he definitely scored more than 4 in the second half. I saw one tweet that said he had 24 and then it was quickly corrected to say he had 20.
Randy Parker Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Are you sure Robb only had 20? Saw a tweet that he had 16 at halftime and he definitely scored more than 4 in the second half. LHL box score has Robb with 20.
gchs_uk9 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Is Scott County the best team in the 11th Region?
Rez Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 LHL box score has Robb with 20. It felt like a lot more. Regardless, very solid game for Robb. This Scott Co team doesn't wow you, but they are very good. They got a lot of deflections, rebounded well, blocked some shots, etc.
Qryche11 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Impressive win for the young Cardinals. Moreno should be a Mr Basketball candidate with Dante Allen of PC when they are Sr's.
giantkiller Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Not only are they young but 3 of the 5 starters are multiple sport athletes. Robb, Watts and Covington all play football and Robb is also a standout in baseball and Covington in Track. They have 3 more subs that play football on the varsity and Moreno finished 2nd in the shot at the middle school state meet last spring and help the 4 x 400 team set the Scott Middle school record. Long was a standout football and baseball kid as well through middle school. This group only has 1 senior who is high quality off the bench and is loaded in the sophomore and freshman group. They are playing extremely well right now and are only getting better. Will they win the 11th? I don't know but they sure will not be afraid to try. By February, I believe they will be 10 or 11 deep and will be all over you defensively. Very good game Robb and Moreno but the whole team played well. Exciting to watch. Going to be fun to watch the rest of this year and the next couple of years.
JacobCarey5530 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I certainly hope the new high school opening in Scott County doesn't split up these underclassmen. If they stick together, and Hicks sticks around 3 more years, I think he should bring one final title back to Georgetown.

They said they didn't have enough budget to build the necessary sports venues like a gym, football field, baseball field, etc.
