Its hard to pay attention to anything on these posts..... and try to make a living.

 

Anyway, the latest on this is Kent Vories is named Head Varsity coach, Mike Vories will be varsity assistant and Tom Sorrell will move from the Girls side and coach the JV Boys. Kent has Varsity experience in Ohio formerly coaching St. Bernard and Clark Montessori and Mike played for Kenny Shields back in the late 70's and is considered one of the best guards to play in the 9th Region over the past 30 yrs. He has a ton of knowledge and will be a great asistant. You can bet the Tigers will be a much improved ballhandling team before the year is over.

Congrats to all involved but will they stay.. The most important thing Bellevue needs in its basketball program right now is some stability.

I was told that they were really close to landing a BIG name at one point in the process. True? Sounds like one of those too good to be true rumors.

Heard the same. I think the guys they have in there now are not job hoppers hoping for the next best thing. K Vories has several years experience and obviously sought out the job so I think he could be there for a few years to come. Tom Sorrell is a longtime Bellevue guy and will definitely give the staff that Black n gold blood. Mike Vories simply doesnt have to coach at all if he doesnt want to. He is interested in helping the program out and getting the community more involved, possibly getting some of the younger kids more involved in competetive basketball, ie AAU. The tough part will be finding the kids who can play and are interested but also finding the kids that can play that may not be interested without a PUSH !!

Very true. Just missed out.

So Mike Vories is going to be Kent's "seeing eye dog" as Kent used to be a 9th region refereee. (LOL). A great basketball family with a ton of connections/experience. I thought Mike was going to get an assistant job down at where Jeffrey went. (LOL). Good luck to all and watch out for the Tigers!! Kent, beware...what went around, comes around!!
