Associated Press basketball polls: Jan. 4 | Lexington Herald-Leader

My question is which of these polls do you put your faith into....They all can't be correct..

BGP

I think of it like college polls. There are your RPI power ratings, which factor in results, strength of schedule, etc. This is similar to the Litkenhous and Cantrall rankings. Then you have the AP poll which is a media vote. And then are polls like BGP's which is done by an individual, but with input from numerous "employees" of BGP (I think). If you see teams consistently in a range across multiple polls, you can just about bank on those.

BGP.

Believe it or not that Maher poll is pretty accurate by the end of Jan.

Just for a little clarity the BGP rankings aren't done by an individual.

Agreed. Same for the Cantrall and Litkenhous. It just takes a while for their formulas to take a true effect.

All you need to know is the "others receiving votes" to lol at this one

Yeaaaahhh, that changed my perspective some.

Didn't someone on the site create a composite ranking in the past of the different polls? Was it LCDawg? Would be interesting.

Is it put together with input from multiple moderators?

Is it out together with input from multiple moderators?

There is a rankings committee that has people all across the state involved. That's about all I can tell you.

Yeah, he did. Waiting on Cantrall and Litkenhaus to get that rolling again.

I think you should rename it to the DAWGHAUS rankings.
