I'd go with the Louis Stout story from the late 50's era. Cynthiana High School to small college to Commissioner of KHSAA, and this description is not thorough enough to do his humble rags to success story justice.

I think the Bach/Augusta story would appeal to a larger audience. Super small school, two wins over Mason County, two District titles, and there's that picture of Bach & George Clooney that would give the story a Hollywood angle.

A fun team to watch. Got a tough draw in the first round of the Sweet 16.

I was thinking it would be neat to chronicle the families in our region but there have been so many. The Kelschs, Myricks, Owens, Dumphords, Masseys, Turners, Feldhaus', and the Hinsons, just to name a few.

Being a fair and balanced guy, I'd have to start with Chris Lofton and the 2003 run. Heck, even USA Today was on the scene, as I recall. Chris' subsequent career at UT and the battle with cancer would give the story additional cachet.

 

Others:

 

Maysville Bulldogs final season. I later played rec ball with Pat Moore, who died young as a result of a blood clot. A finer young man I've never met. Mike Case also left us WAY too soon.

 

The Montgomery County/Mason County "Billy Ray Fawns game."

I love Opie's idea of The Fieldhouse. Andy Mitchell built it; his daughter worked with me and for me for years and years. Many of us that are long-time fans of the 10th have spent many an hour in the place. In fact, I think I'll ask Sumo to get a rough estimate of his time there.
