Idk, I guess the difference between him and us is that he has the ability to influence many more people. It just annoys me when you see athletes and movie stars using their popularity to weigh in on politics. I'm not a fan of Sammy L because he is some great scholar, I am a fan of him because he is good at acting, so other than acting I don't really care what else he has to say. Same goes with athletes who try to get into politics. Once you get off the court/ field, your opinions mean little if anything.

If a celebrity were to come out and have some really great ideas, and wants to run a campaign and spread his ideas thats fine. I just dont like the idea that just because a celebrity holds a position on an issue that that position somehow means something or is right simply because he is a celebrity.

This is it. We tend to view minorities as a monolithic whole and view the majority as isolated individuals.
